The Role

As the Director of Operations, you will ensure effective management of your teams and are responsible for planning, directing, profitability and coordinating the activities of your team. This role is a hands-on operational and strategic role, the ability to build collaborative internal cross functional teams across the operation to develop and align processes for efficiency and profitability is invaluable. In this role, it is critical that you will be able to demonstrate the ability to grow the skillset and performance capabilities of a team through goal setting, alignment of corporate goals, and mentorship. 

What you’ll do

• Present and always promote a professional image of the company.
• Maintain a positive outlook and attitude about the organization and its goals, since this will directly impact how the staff takes on challenges and process changes.
• Profit and Loss performance, ensuring targets and profitability targets are met.
• Daily support of Operational and Sales Team Leads.
• Control team costs and introducing tactical initiatives to address losses.
• Resolve conflict and team issues to the benefit of the company.
• Mentor and train team members to develop skills.
• Ensure customer billings are keeping pace with job related costs.
• Assist in developing and maintaining business processes with all stakeholders.
• Review proposals and quotations and occasionally walk a project with a Sales and/or Operational Lead to ensure all items are included along with the appropriate amount of time to complete.
• Hire, counsel, and/or terminate employees.
• Approve or decline time and expenses of subordinates.

What you’ll get

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook), Internet Explorer, and familiarity with NetSuite and Scoro
• Proven experience in Project Management, and Profit and Loss Accounting within the Low Voltage/Security industries
• Excellent communication, leadership, interpersonal and analytical skills
• Exceptional ability to delegate and manage the work of others
• An commendable drive for results and accountability to business needs
