Why this role matters

In recent years Vonage has embarked on an ambitious and exciting growth strategy which has led to a significant transformation of the business and most recently, it led to the acquisition by global Telco powerhouse Ericsson. This Director role sits within our COO organization reporting into the Vonage Group COO and will be responsible for driving operational excellence, flawless execution and continuous improvement across the Vonage Communications Platform (VCP).

This is a newly created role stemming from the need to optimize end to end processes and systems to support the go-to-market teams with scaling our global business efficiently. The key to success in this role is the ability to demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, identify the right gaps, collaborate extensively with cross-functional teams to design and build out innovative solutions and most importantly execute and help achieve the annual operating targets (AOP). '

As a Director of Operations, you will be an individual contributor with the requisite experience and gravitas to operate at senior management and Executive Leadership Team (ELT) level whilst also being comfortable working in the details of the business including collating data, providing insights and recommendations as well as preparing presentations. Vonage has a strong global presence and your stakeholders reside in all regions of the world which requires a flexible approach to working.

What you will do:

  • Work with stakeholders to develop strategic change, drive change management and business transformation efforts to optimise end to end systems and processes
  • Tracking and driving daily operational issues and financial impact, keeping affected teams informed and recommend best course of action to remediate and support execution
  • Collaborate with Product, Sales, Operations, Financeย  and Marketing to understand progress against financial roadmap and drive accountability to ensure gaps are addressed
  • Contribute to Finance's business plan to justify investment for improved profitability
  • Build and maintain a priority management model that creates transparency to guide and reinforce the delivery of key strategic initiatives
  • Provide planning, operational and project management support to the COO
  • Key liaison for fraudulent traffic tracking and impact on the business

What will you bring:

  • Degree level education and 10+ years operational experience with a focus on execution
  • Experience in SaaS and/or Telco, or similar complex high volume transactions businesses
  • Six Sigma Certification or similar qualification
  • Must be a highly motivated, results driven self-starter, able to shift directions quickly when priorities change and think through problems to come up with innovative solutions against tight deadlines
  • Possess strong business acumen and excellent analytical skills to help make logical decisions in a fast paced environment
  • Extensive project management experience in joint business and technical environments
  • High proficiency in using BI/Strategic planning tools and G-Suite products (Slides, Sheets) for collaboration
  • Proactive and positive change agent
  • A collaborative team player who can build consensus among cross-functional teams at all levels and influence decision making to drive great outcomes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience in creating executive level presentations
