Director of Operations Strategy & Analytics

Job Summary: 

As the Operations Strategy and Analytics Director, you will play a critical role in building and maturing cost analytics, KPIs, cross-functional forecasting, business intelligence and strategic initiatives. You will act as the central point of coordination and analytical problem solving between Operations teams (e.g., Manufacturing, Supply Chain, New Business, Technology) and other functions (e.g., Marketing, Finance, Product). Day-to-day, you will lead a team of managers and analysts specialized in analytics, planning, strategic modeling, process improvement, data visualization, data warehousing and strategy. Specifically, your team will develop and implement tools, models, metrics, dashboards and data marts that translate ambiguous, cross-functional questions into actionable, data-backed decisions and implementation plans. 

What You’ll Do: 

• Scale and lead a team of analytics and strategy professionals across the following pillars:
• Cost analytics
• Support your team in developing Operations-wide tools, metrics and analyses to increase cost visibility and proactively drive cost reduction
• Drive cost-based decision making and prioritization across teams, focusing on strategic trade-offs
• Collaborate with Finance to develop a perspective on future gross margin position based on cost reduction initiatives 
• Forecasting
• Collaborate with Manufacturing and Supply Chain to develop the consolidated Operations forecast
• Serve as the face of Operations forecasting to Marketing and Finance, consolidating key Operations inputs, running ad hoc analyses and developing strategies to meet Operations and Ruggable goals
• Build tools, models and analytics to drive above goals, prioritizing both functionality and design 
• Business Intelligence
• Own Operations-wide KPIs to drive alignment and progress towards goals
• Intentionally design and implement Looker dashboards with a focus on simplicity and UX/UI principles
• Drive and support self-service data and analytics 
• Set a long-term vision for the analytics function as it expands to support multiple new business units, international markets and footprint expansions 
• Lead high-impact efforts that require heavy analytical support and cross-functional implementation 

What You’ll Need to Have:

Required: 

• Experience managing a team in consulting, data analytics, planning or business intelligence environment
• Ability to lead long-term, multifaceted strategic initiatives with minimal guidance 
• Strong business intuition and ability to understand complex business systems, processes and data architecture
• High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets
• Experience with SQL, data visualization software or data warehouse solutions
• High work output standards with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities simultaneously
• Exceptional presentation and verbal / communication skills
