Director of Operations Strategy & Analytics

Job Summary: 

As the Strategy & Analytics Director, you will play a critical role in driving holistic Operations strategy for Ruggable.  You’re somebody who loves managing data-based decision making processes to support other leaders, and thrives on helping other teams perform their best for the company.  In this role you will act as the central point of analytical problem solving between Operations sub- teams (Manufacturing, Supply Chain, New Business, Technology), and other functions (Marketing, Finance and Product).  You love consulting with leaders across many different teams to help them gain the clarity, direction and tools needed to reach their ambitious goals.    

As a member of  the Operations Excellence sub team, you’ll be a driving force to bridge gaps between strategy, execution and performance management.  Day-to-day, you will lead a team specializing in analytics, business modeling, long-term planning, process improvement, forecasting and strategy. Your team will be expected to develop and implement resources, models, metrics, dashboards and processes that translate ambiguous, cross-functional questions into actionable, data-backed decisions and insights. 

What You’ll Do: 

• Lead a team of analytics and strategy professionals to drive impact in the following areas::
• Holistic strategy
• Translate Ruggable’s vision  into the Operations Team’s near-term goals and objectives 
• Develop communications and engagement plans to communicate and align teams to strategic priorities 
• Better decision making
• Collaborate with your team to answer high-level strategic questions (e.g., “Should we warehouse inhouse or externally?” or “Why have costs changed over time and what is our forecasted outlook?” or “How do we reduce outbound shipping costs?”) with a hypothesis-driven approach and data-backed trade-offs
• Efficient processes
• Own and implement strategic initiatives that align with Operation’s objectives
• Serve as the face of Operations forecasting to Marketing and Finance, consolidating key Operations cost, production and procurement outputs 
• Optimized performance
• Create and implement actionable insights with intentional outputs that lead to proactive decision making and behavior changes 
• Intentionally design and implement Looker dashboards with a focus on simplicity and UX/UI principles
• Support your team in developing Operations-wide cost tools, metrics and analyses to increase cost visibility and proactively drive cost reduction
• Develop a perspective on future gross margin position based on cost reduction initiatives 
• Set a long-term vision for the strategy and analytics function as it expands to support multiple new business units, international markets and footprint expansions 
• Lead high-impact projects that require heavy analytical support and cross-functional implementation 

What You’ll Need to Have:

Required: 

• Experience managing a team in consulting, analytics, supply chain, logistics, engineering or operations 
• Ability to lead long-term, multifaceted strategic initiatives with minimal guidance 
• Strong business intuition and ability to understand complex business systems, processes and data architecture
• High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets
• Experience with data visualization software (e.g., Looker, Tableau) 
• High work output standards with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities simultaneously
• Exceptional presentation and verbal / communication skills

• Previous experience working at a high-growth company
