We are seeking an experienced Director of Operations, with a "can do" mindset, who will mature the payment operations function through the application of operational standards and best practices. This key member of our leadership team will be responsible for ensuring that our payment processing service delivers value to our customers by evolving people, processes and systems to meet the needs of our current and future customers. This is a strategic role and is a unique and exciting opportunity to facilitate smooth payment transactions in an industry-leading business model.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years Operations or Payments Processing management and leadership experience within tech-enabled service.
  • Proven track record of exceptional operating discipline
  • Demonstrated ability to form strategies and methodically execute operating plan for a core service delivery department
  • Proven track record of process improvement analysis and implementation, and systems automation. Knowledge of and working experience in the environment compliant with SOC-2 operational principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to triage incoming issues, prioritize and creativity solve them.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet critical deadlines and work on a predefined schedule.
  • Proven track record of building and scaling high performing, global teams.
  • Hands-on experience and ability to use commercial banking tools and payment interfaces to create, track, or remediate payment transactions is preferred.
  • Demonstrated understanding of B2B payment methods and processes is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with large volume payment setup, initiation, and reconciliation preferred.
  • Experience managing budgets with the ability to evaluate financial and business indicators and translate data into actionable insights.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence leaders and effectively negotiate with internal and external business partners
  • Experience in financial services, high growth SaaS or FinTech startup required.
  • Exceptional data analysis and interpretation skills required.
  • Strong experience leveraging core operating platforms such as Salesforce required.
  • Must be someone who thrives in a dynamic, high pressure and at times hectic environment with a culture of harnessing ongoing process improvement and a 'can do' attitude
  • BA in accounting, finance, economics, business or other related field. MBA preferred
    Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership, direction, and support for the payment operations teams including daily operations, needs assessments, quality assurance, process improvement, productivity, capacity planning, performance reporting and vendor outsourcing activities.
  • Develop, communicate, and oversee customer centric payment service delivery standards incorporating voice of customer in the process.
  • Ensure all department goals are effective and measurable and oversee operational payment services functions to achieve established performance goals. Analyze results and ensure direct reports' awareness of progress related to goals.
  • Develop high performing leaders and team members through the promotion of an environment of professional development and employee engagement. Establish successful employee onboarding training, define career paths, and effectively coach employees to success.
  • Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement and lead and encourage the team to achieve their very best.
  • Build and grow scalability into the payment operations function including but not limited to streamlining processes, automating simple tasks and establishing offshore/nearshore employee business functions.
  • Foster a process improvement mindset and apply process improvement methods and tools to achieve business objectives.
  • Analyze business decisions to ensure sound, customer centric processes are followed. Ensure audit findings are reconciled with sound business practices and the interests of our customers in mind.
  • Collaborate with product management to incorporate changes to products and services into operational processes. Negotiate resource needs to align with organizational priorities.
  • Foster and maintain collaborative relationships with team, peers, and senior leadership.
  • Develop strong business acumen and facilitate strong partnerships with key stakeholders to ensure operational processes meet department needs while effectively aligning to those of adjacent functions.
  • Collaborate with department leaders to develop short- and long-term strategies to drive company performance objectives.
  • Design and maintain reports and dashboards that capture meaningful data into Payment Operations through leading and lagging indicators and early warning mechanisms.
  • Effectively analyze available data and identify new data needs to successfully inform current and future business decisions.
  • Stay informed on trends, best practices and regulations that impact the payments operations department. Keep Finexio operations up to date with industry best practices for payment processing; drive the company towards operational excellence and compliance with SOC-2 operational principles.
  • Leverage knowledge management standards and recommended tooling to ensure operational processes and risks associated with payment flows are properly documented, managed and are readily accessible to internal and external audiences.
  • Ongoing liaison with financial institution partners in relation to payment operational matters.
