We are seeking an experienced Director of Operations who will mature the payment operations function through the application of operational standards and best practices. This key member of our leadership team will be responsible for ensuring that our payment processing service delivers value to our customers by evolving existing people, process and systems to meet the needs of our current and future customers. This is a strategic role and is a unique and exciting opportunity to facilitate smooth payment transactions in an industry-leading business model.

Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of Operations or Payments Processing management and leadership experience within tech-enabled service environment
- Demonstrated experience forming and executing strategies of a core service delivery department
- Proven track record of process improvement analysis and implementation. Knowledge of and working experience in the environment compliant with SOC-2 operational principles
- Hands-on experience and ability to use commercial banking tools and payment interfaces to create, track, or remediate payment transactions.
- Demonstrated understanding of B2B payment methods and processes.
- Demonstrated ability to triage incoming issues and prioritize accordingly. Demonstrated ability to meet critical deadlines and working on a predefined schedule.
- Hands-on experience with large volume payment setup, initiation, and reconciliation.
- Experience managing budgets with the ability to evaluate financial and business indicators and translate data into actionable insights.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence leaders and effectively negotiate with internal and external business partners
- Experience in financial services and/or FinTech / Startup required.
- You should be someone that thrives in a dynamic, high pressure and at times hectic environment with a culture of harnessing ongoing process improvement and a 'can do' attitude.
- BA in accounting, finance, economics, or business. MBA preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership, direction, and support for the Payment Operations teams including daily operations, needs assessments, quality assurance, process improvement, productivity, capacity planning, management reporting and vendor outsourcing activities.
- Develop, communicate, and oversee customer centric payment service delivery standards incorporating voice of customer in the process.
- Ensure all department goals are effective, measurable, and achieve the desired results.
- Foster a process improvement mindset and apply process improvement methods and tools to achieve business objectives.
- Foster and maintain collaborative relationships with team, peers and senior leadership.
- Facilitate strong partnerships with key stakeholders to ensure operational processes meet department needs while effectively aligning to those of adjacent functions.
- Collaborate with department leaders to develop short and long term strategies to drive company performance objectives
- Oversee operational payments services functions to achieve established performance goals. Analyze results and ensure direct reports' awareness of progress related to goals.
- Stay informed on trends, best practices and regulations that impact the Payments Support Departments. Implement modifications to existing programs that enhance STCU's efforts.
- Analyze business decisions to ensure sound, member friendly processes are followed. Ensure audit findings are reconciled with sound business practices and the interests of our members in mind.
- Collaborate with payments product management to incorporate changes to products and services into operational processes. Negotiate resource needs to align with organizational priorities
- Develop the Payments Operations team into high performing groups by defining, executing, and communicating operational processes, standards, and best practices that work flawlessly and minimize crisis situations.
- Proactive review of processes to identify inefficiencies, control weaknesses and opportunities for improved efficiency and effectiveness. Collaborate with the Product group to build-out critical tools, automate routine work where possible, and address recurring issues.
- Keep Finexio operations up to date with industry best practices for Payment processing; drive the company towards operational excellence and compliance with SOC-2 operational principles
- Own payment processing and support issues from beginning to end, working with internal teams as appropriate to troubleshoot and resolve issues in a systematic and timely fashion.
- Ensure operational risks associated with payment flows are properly documented, managed and mitigated
- Ongoing liaison with financial institution partners in relation to payment operational matters
- Design and maintain reports and dashboards that capture meaningful data into Payment Operations through leading and lagging indicators and early warning mechanisms. These dashboards should also be used to plan resourcing requirements.
- Hire, coach and manage junior team members. Promote an environment of professional development and employee engagement. Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement and lead and encourage the team to achieve their very best.
