Director of Physical Security

ID.me is looking for a Director of Physical Security to add to our rapidly growing security team. As ID.me continues to expand at a rapid pace, we need a physical security leader to help provide a safe and secure workplace for our employees and contractors. The Director of Physical Security will also have the opportunity to provide thought leadership in the areas of physical security and life safety, and finding ways to make the secure solution the path of least resistance. A candidate in this role will need to be able to move quickly to adjust to business needs, and build a strong sense of community through security awareness.

• Ensure life safety programs are well maintained, practiced, and communicated (fire, medical emergencies, weather, external threats, etc)
• Participate in the crisis and emergency response processes
• Develop and maintain an executive protection program
• Forge strong relationships across people-focused teams at ID.me
• Build and manage relationships with real estate management companies to ensure alignment with facility emergency procedures
• Develop physical access control capabilities across multiple locations with an eye to technology integrations for improved visibility and awareness
• Staffing and management of physical security in-house and contracted staff at multiple locations
• Perform risk assessments and develop mitigation plans for current and future office locations, identify gaps, and build proposals for addressing gaps effectively
• Develop and maintain relationships with local and state law enforcement, federal agencies, third party vendors and community organizations
• Participate in the strategic planning of security implementation, including adequate resource planning and budget
• Develop and manage planning for Workplace Violence events
• Lead physical security crisis management planning and execution
  

• 7+ years of experience in physical security
• Private sector business acumen (Budgets/P&L/cost controls/contracts)  
• Hands on experience with a variety of physical access control platforms
• Demonstrated leadership experience in building, managing, mentoring, and inspiring physical security teams, with a proven track record of leveraging data to drive decision making
• Ability to identify, analyze, and explain the present or future needs for proposed security initiatives to senior management
• Comfortable leading large cross functional initiatives, and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders
• Familiarity with the issues facing multinational corporations related to the current risk environment
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills coupled with strong business acumen
• Experience in conducting risk and vulnerability assessments and operational security design/planning
