Director of Product Development

Position Overview:

As the Director of Product Development, you will play a critical role in creating strategy, leading and overseeing the product development lifecycle, from ideation to launch. You will be responsible for driving innovation, managing cross-functional teams, and ensuring the successful execution of product development strategies. This role requires a combination of strategic thinking, technical expertise, the ability to develop collaborative relationships with other departments, and strong leadership skills to bring innovative and high-quality products to market.

Candidates with a background creating products in weight loss, nutrition or food science is a plus!

Key Responsibilities:

Product Strategy and Roadmap:

Develop and articulate the product vision, strategy, and roadmap aligned with the company's overall vision and objectives

Product Development Process:

Establish and implement a structured product development process, ensuring efficient and effective execution from concept to launch

Define project milestones, deliverables, and timelines, managing resources and priorities to meet product development goals

Conduct regular reviews and assessments to identify and address potential risks, issues, and bottlenecks, ensuring projects stay on track

Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field such as food science, weight loss or nutrition preferred

Proven experience (8+ years) in product management, with a focus on product development, in a health and wellness organization that focuses on weight loss and weight management

Strong leadership and people management skills, with a track record of successfully leading and developing high-performing teams

Deep understanding of product development methodologies, agile frameworks, and best practices

Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders

Proven experience in successfully launching and scaling products in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Familiarity with industry trends in health and wellness

Results-oriented mindset with a focus on achieving business goals while maintaining high standards of product quality
