Director of Product Management 

We are looking for a Director of Product Management to lead one of SmartBear’s fastest growing product lines. You will work with a group of highly empowered product managers, engineers, marketers and salespeople to further turbocharge the growth of this business. We are a mature team, but operate at a startup scale when required, giving you immense opportunity to grow in your Product Management career.  

About the role 

As a Director of Product Management, you will:  

  • Drive the product vision and strategy for the Zephyr products within the Atlassian marketplace 
  • Establish influential relationships with key marketplace players while maintaining strong internal communications across Sales, Product Marketing, and Growth Marketing teams. 
  • Lead cross-functional strategic and tactical initiatives in line with customer needs and SmartBear revenue goals. 
  • Champion a culture of autonomy, encouraging teams to innovate and drive forward with new ideas and solutions. 
  • Analyze market trends, gather customer insights, and adjust product strategy to maintain a competitive edge. 

We are looking for you if you have:  

Must-Haves: 

  • Demonstrated domain expertise in building and maintaining marketplace apps (e.g., Atlassian, AWS, Salesforce AppExchange). 
  • Highly influential communication skills, capable of influencing both external marketplace entities and internal teams across Sales, Product Marketing, and Growth Marketing. 
  • Proven track record of working on products or initiatives with a high degree of autonomy 

Should-Haves: 

  • Ability to work effectively with empowered engineering teams that move fast, make sound trade-offs and build next-gen capabilities 
  • Experience in a Product-Led Growth (PLG) setting 
  • Familiarity with managing globally distributed engineering and product teams 

Nice-to-Haves: 

  • Experience managing 2+ PMs 
  • Knowledge of SmartBear’s developer and testing tools market landscape 
  • Data-oriented and analytical mindset
