About the Role

The Director of Product Marketing will be a key leader in our business with responsibility for driving engagement and conversion funnels across core business lines: membership, marketplace, publishing, and events.

You’ll inspire and lead a team of marketers in the development and implementation of strategic multi-channel customer marketing programs that engage and convert our members.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Marketing, your key responsibilities include:

  • Develop plans to meet revenue targets
    • Partner with GM of Marketplace, GM of Publishing, and Head of Product to understand P&L and product roadmaps and develop strategic marketing plans in support of revenue targets
    • Develop frameworks to evaluate Marketing efficacy for each business line and identify where resources should be allocated to maximize overall (vs business line) revenue performance
    • Operationalize planning and execution of campaigns across a matrixed channel ownership landscape → Media/Content Team (SEO, Podcast, YouTube, Blog), Product (Site), Growth Marketing (paid media, PR, content marketing) and Email Marketing.
  • Level up lifecycle marketing frameworks in partnership with Product and Business GMs
    • Align on F30 user goals and develop coordinated onsite/offsite onboarding experiences that maximize engagement and conversion.
    • Develop a highly effective and scalable approach to maximize revenue across multiple business lines (Pro subscriptions, Bootcamp enrollments, BPCON ticket sales, Marketplace leads (agent, lender, property management), and Publishing book purchases)
  • Develop targeting, product positioning, messaging, and marketing strategies to drive revenue growth across three core business lines:
    • Free and Paid Membership products, which provide content, community, and tools to support investors throughout their investing lifecycle
    • Marketplace products, which connects users with investor-friendly agents, lenders, property managers, etc.
    • Publishing products, which include 30+ books that span real estate investing, business, and FI/RE mindset topics
  • Define the strategy and lead the implementation of our first segmentation strategy
    • Map out user marketing journeys, define key user segments, and identify opportunities to drive growth throughout the user lifecycle
    • Partner with product, engineering, and business intelligence teams on identifying and capturing data for segmentation initiatives
    • Shift our marketing strategy from batch-and-blast to a right-user, right-product, right-time approach and demonstrate the BiggerPockets marketing organization is capable of personalizing and segmenting marketing in a scalable way.
  • Develop Marketing strategies that fuel growth by “fishing outside of our pond”
    • Effectively identify new growth channels and scale profitable paid media campaigns, in partnership with the Director of Acquisition & Growth
  • Constantly create new opportunities for high ROI investment through coordinated optimization, aggressive testing, innovation and channel expansion that pushes the efficiency curve to new boundaries, removes friction from the user journey, and delivers a positive customer experience
  • Develop a team of exceptional marketing leaders, creating a high impact, high performing organization that loves our customers, thrives on data, and embraces constant learning and innovation

Requirements

About You

  • 8+ years of experience in product marketing, integrated marketing, or growth marketing, with demonstrated experience developing and analyzing product acquisition efficiency and effectiveness
  • Multi-Channel marketing experience: You've been there, done that, and have learned how to successfully leverage paid media, email, podcast, YouTube, and content marketing to drive growth
  • You’re a matrix maven: You’re energized by matrixed collaboration, can deftly figure out the best way to put puzzle pieces together, and understand how to navigate building relationships while driving results
  • You embrace dotted lines: You know how to partner with business line owners (GMs) to support their business objectives, filter ideas through a marketing 80/20 lens, and proactively communicate on performance, updates, and issues.
  • You're a data nerd: You can interpret and storytell around data.
  • You test, learn, and try again: You have deep experimentation experience and mindset with a proven track record of executing A/B tests, optimizing campaigns and translating data into insights
  • You have a growth mindset: your experience can help us lay a solid foundation, and your curiosity and commitment to growth will take us to the next level.
  • You get energized by your team and love fueling their growth: You are a widely admired manager and developer of people and have 5+ years of management experience.
  • You’ve had meaningful experience with B2C lead funnels, subscription businesses and/or marketplaces.

LOCATION: Remote - US based

SALARY: The salary range for this job position is $135,000 - $145,000 based on experience, plus a 10% bonus potential.
