Director of Product Marketing
Job Description
Smartrr is every hungry Product Marketer's dream. We are a high growth scale-up, uniquely positioned in the Shopify ecosystem at the forefront of the highly-competitive category of subscriptions. Releasing new features on a weekly cadence, you won't be bored! As the Director of Product Marketing, you will be at the core of our marketing strategy and acting as the liaison between Smartrr's Marketing, Product and Client Success teams. With ownership across product strategy, customer marketing and messaging, this high-exposure leadership opportunity has potential to make a major impact on Smartrr's growth.
Responsibilities:
- Your number one priority is to ensure the brands we work with stay at the core of our GTM approach. Smartrr does not take the phrase "Customer Obsessed" lightly.
- Develop and execute Smartrr's product marketing strategy to sit at the heart of and organically weave into our overarching GTM strategy.
- Conduct sophisticated competitive analysis to equip Marketing & Sales with the most impactful message positioning and influence the product roadmap based on our client's needs and pain points.
- Own customer and lifecycle marketing, driving engagement across the existing customer base.
- Be a force multiplier for Client Success by supporting their direct engagement with messaging that resonates and automated engagement that reduces their burden.
- Drive more self-serve customers to better position Smartrr for product-led growth.
- Create recurring customer feedback loops for continuous improvement across the organization and marketing content.
- Implement documentation standards for feedback and product improvement areas.
- Collect data on new product releases to support the level of brand impact each product feature has.
- Own product release copy, calendar, positioning and distribution.
- Drive product adoption across our robust feature set.
- Design Smartrr's pricing and packaging to achieve feature adoption, merchant growth and financial goals
- Educate Smartrr users on technical implementation of new features through help docs and learning hubs.
- Maintain a clear view of the market landscape and Shopify ecosystem to identify major opportunities for product expansion.
- Own our integration roadmap.
- Mentor and guide junior team members as they grow in their marketing careers.
Requirements
- 8+ years of building and executing highly impactful product marketing strategies.
- Positive track record of driving customer adoption of new products.
- You possess a strong technical understanding of Shopify apps.
- You're no stranger to the Shopify ecosystem and can expertly navigate each App category.
- Experience building and leading Customer Advisory Boards and/or focus groups.
- You've demonstrated success in interviewing and deploying feedback surveys.
- You have the ability to ask the right questions at the right time to collect data and turn it into actionable initiatives for Smartrr's Marketing, Product and Client Success teams.
- You are a self-starter, comfortable working in a fast-paced scale-up environment.
- You are a collaborative team player and natural leader

- You have strong writing and communication skills.
