Job Summary

As Director of Product Marketing (Competitive Insights), your primary responsibility will be to monitor and evaluate market trends, competitors' activities, and customer/researcher needs to develop a comprehensive understanding of the competitive landscape. You will utilize your expertise to identify emerging market threats and opportunities, enabling us to refine our product positioning, messaging, and pricing strategies. You will stay up-to-date with industry trends, conduct regular reviews of competitor messaging and announcements, and proactively monitor new entrants and disruptive technologies, and are expected to use that knowledge to inform other marketing activities as well as sales enablement and training.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Complete market research to identify key competitors, their product offerings, pricing strategies, distribution channels, marketing tactics, and overall market positioning
  • Analyze competitor strengths and weaknesses, assessing their potential impact on our product marketing strategies and business goals
  • Monitor industry trends, market dynamics, and emerging technologies to stay updated on competitive landscape changes
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, sales, and marketing, to develop and refine our product positioning and messaging strategies based on competitive insights
  • Generate detailed battlecards, collateral, and presentations that highlight competitive analysis findings, including key findings, recommendations, and action plans
  • Work with Sales Enablement team on training objectives and materials to drive adoption of competitive messaging and materials by the field
  • Continuously monitor and assess competitor activities, promotions, and messaging to identify potential threats or opportunities
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop competitive intelligence frameworks, programs, and tools that support the overall marketing strategy

Education & Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in product marketing
  • Ownership mentality: Ability to drive projects to completion from inception through adoption with minimal supervision
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive, analytical approach to problem-solving
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong communication and presentation skills

Pay Range Disclosure:
The base pay range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including, but not limited to, Qualifications, Geographical Location, Education/certifications, Experience, Skill Sets, Training, and other business and organizational needs. 

At Bugcrowd, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for the position of Director of Product Marketing - Competitive Insights is: $159,570 - @177,300 

This position may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary bonus program or commission plan, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
