Director of Production, Fermentation

Overview:

As Locus continues to grow its manufacturing and production space in Solon, OH, the team continues to grow! As the Director of Production you will be responsible to lead  activities associated with the production of Locus biosurfactants as well as direct the trained and skilled team which includes team development & schedule coordination. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure team compliance with all safety and plant hygiene policies and procedures.
• Ensure consistent quality of production by developing and enforcing Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP); validating processes; providing documentation and managing staff throughout the production plants.
• Ensure appropriate standard operating procedures (SOP’s) are developed and maintained.
• Build people capability through effective employee hiring, training, communication and implementing a culture that values performance, delivery, communication and teamwork.
• Direct the overall activities of the manufacturing facilities of the plant to ensure customer orders are received, scheduled, produced and shipped at the lowest possible cost to meet the customers’ requirements while maintaining corporate established quality standards.
• Ensure production machinery complies with professional and safety standards.
• Schedule maintenance and repair of machines used in production process to minimize downtime and delays.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• 3+ years’ experience managing a production facility utilizing GMP.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

• Experience in a fermentation plant.
• Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, microbiology, fermentation science, or similar.
