Position Description

Origis Energy is looking for an experienced Director of Project Development to join our Clean Hydrogen team. This person will join an agile, extremely motivated team with the main objective of driving growth and project execution successes in clean hydrogen. Experience with site selection, land/water rights acquisition, and project management is critical. Experience developing industrial sites, gas plants, requiring heavy stakeholder collaboration is strongly preferred. Responsible for identifying, procuring, and developing sites to expand our portfolio, and establishing and maintaining specific development processes and procedures for the Origis Energy – Clean Hydrogen Business Unit.

The Director of Project Development reports directly to the Clean Hydrogen Business Unit Leader and is a regular, full-time position, and is eligible for our generous employee benefits package, including employer paid health insurance, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employer matching contributions, and other great benefits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a prospecting strategy with Business Development to grow project pipeline
  • Lead site selection and acquisition of land and water rights
  • Lead cross-functional team to ensure project execution success
  • Coordinate with internal, external and customer stakeholders to align needs
  • Lead permitting with internal and external stakeholders for on-time project delivery
  • Coordinate with third party partners for permitting and EPC success
  • Key project/program manager
  • Support multiple clean Hydrogen customer bids and financings

Preferred Qualifications

  • BS and/or BA, MBA preferred
  • Experience and deep understanding of industrial project execution
  • Strong hydrogen-related technical knowledge and understanding
  • Experience in customer presentations and negotiations
  • 5-10+ years of increasingly progressive development / project management leadership
  • Experience in negotiating and executing land and water rights agreements
  • Preparation of market analyses, techno-economic optimization, and recommendations
