Job Description

Team: Communications & Public Affairs

About the Team
At Trendyol Corporate Affairs, we shape our ecosystem through strategic partnerships, policy advocacy, and impactful communication.
Bringing together Corporate Affairs, Corporate Development, and Corporate Communications, we engage with government bodies, influence industry dialogue, and support commerce-enabling regulation.
From driving strategic collaborations to enhancing brand reputation through media and stakeholder relations, we strengthen Trendyol’s presence and purpose in a rapidly evolving landscape.

We are seeking an experienced leader for our CEE Public Policy, with an immediate focus on Romania and a mandate to scale public policy engagement across Central and Eastern Europe. The region includes key markets such as Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Slovakia, Hungary, Czechia, and Poland. This individual will lead the development and execution of public policy and regulatory strategies in a fast-moving, complex environment—starting with Romania and expanding to other CEE markets. They will represent the company before senior policymakers and regulators, advocate for policy outcomes aligned with our business priorities, and build a scalable framework for long-term government engagement across the region.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a regional public policy strategy aligned with business priorities, starting with Romania.
  • Build and manage relationships with regulators, ministries, trade associations, and key stakeholders across CEE.
  • Conduct policy analysis, monitor regulatory risks, and provide actionable insights to leadership.
  • Coordinate with Legal, Communications, and Operations to ensure aligned advocacy and compliance.
  • Represent the company in public affairs forums, industry associations, and regulatory consultations.
  • Lead stakeholder mapping and create a regional policy heatmap to inform strategic decisions.
  • Support market entry and expansion by enabling smooth navigation of regulatory landscapes.
  • Expected Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in government affairs, public policy, or regulatory strategy, ideally in tech, e-commerce, or other regulated industries.
  • Deep expertise in Romania’s political and regulatory environment, with broader CEE and EU exposure highly desirable.
  • Proven record of shaping legislative or regulatory outcomes and leading successful advocacy campaigns.
  • Strong strategic, analytical, and negotiation skills with a commercial mindset.
  • Advanced degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Law, International Relations, or related field.
  • Fluency in English and Romanian; additional CEE languages (e.g. Polish, Hungarian, Czech) are an advantage.
  • Experience leading cross-border or cross-functional teams, including external consultants or local advisors.
