The company initially was focused in machine learning techniques but now has evolved into a small company that's devoted to utilizing "unorthodox" research methodologies in theoretical development and use of mathematics and science.

 

DUBL ï™ will be a resultant product from the platform, IISS™ (Informational Interpretation Scientific Software). DUBL ï™ will be designed as software that performs immediate detection, distinction, classification and analysis.

Job Description

Hexagon Lavish® (HL) has an exciting opportunity in the form of a full-time permanent position for an experienced Director of R&D. The ideal candidate will harbor the attributes and characteristics of a leader; be passionate about taking the R&D efforts of Hexagon Lavish® to the "next level"; be responsible in working with commitment and accountability; collaborate with colleagues and clients; and be diligent and agile enough to manage the dynamisms of an ever-changing industry.

 

The Director of R&D will "hit the ground running" with our current R&D team and continue with developing and expanding on the R&D team with extensive academic and industrial experience in building research and development-oriented products.

 

The Director of R&D will also be responsible for evangelizing the research and development procedures for the organization and ensure the quality of the R&D undertakings with consistency and alignment during all phases of research and development. The ideal candidate will have the qualifications necessary to identify and prioritize the highest value problems that the HL R&D team should solve as well as set, evaluate and communicate research and development performance against corporate objectives. The Director of R&D will also evaluate both business and technological tradeoffs and report them in a manner that product and business teams will make decisions on all final specifications. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and lead client relationships across hardware, software, IT, and vertical solutions
  • From hands-on experience in developing technical business solutions, establish and grow trusted, senior-level relationships with key partners, vendors and industry organizations
  • Identify, develop, and implement methodologies to improve client and team engagement, productivity, efficiencies, effectiveness, and contribute to overall company profitability
  • Minimum MS required and/or Ph.D in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science or equivalent field strongly preferred
  • A strong and applicable mathematical background accompanied by knowledge in various analytic methodologies the likes of signal processing, software optimization, etc.
  • Assimilate feedback into the R&D strategies
  • A proven ability to make difficult tradeoffs that will appropriately meet "the right" technological solutions
  • Conversent on highly complex solutions to a range of technical and non-technical stakeholders from developers to executive stakeholders
  • Works collaboratively with cross-functional partners determines short and long term product strategies and technologies
  • Ensures robust product development process practices and implementation of functional excellence initiatives
  • Leads a group or team of employees in the achievement of organizational goals
  • Provide leadership to ensure product formulation can be effectively scaled up with targeted contract manufacturers and step in to resolve issues
  • Share your technical expertise and function as a technical expert to support product launch, offering technical explanation to others in the organization
  • Grow and manage a high performing R&D team consisting of Engineers, Scientists, and Research Associates
  • Work closely with CTO, CEO, and business development to ensure alignment of technology development plan and corporate strategic and operational plans
  • Participate in the publication of research papers and in the filing patents

CANDIDATE PROFILE:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience working in an industrial R&D setting
  • 10 years of supervisory experience in a complex, multi-site environment high-tech/scientific R&D organization
  • Reputation for being a proactive leader with evidence of having worked as a true business partner with the CEO and the senior leadership teams in program and administration
  • Results oriented; understands scientific requirements and provides solutions in a rapidly changing environment and growth-oriented organization
  • Experience in creating and managing external partner relationships
  • Exceptional developmental and strategic planning skills
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of corporate, inter-divisional and divisional strategies and tactics
  • Establish and delegate responsibilities, authority and decision-making appropriately

Base Salary for this position is conditioned by a "24-schedule" that awards a certain amount per hour.

This position is a full-time/permanent position and requires a "24-schedule" that equates to a minimum of forty (40) hours per week.
