About the team:
The Risk & Audit at Robinhood is assisting the company's Audit Committee and Risk Committee of the Company Board with protecting assets, reputation, and sustainability of the organization. The Risk & Audit function provides independent, objective, reliable, valued and timely assurance regarding the effectiveness of governance, risk management, and internal controls that mitigate current and emerging risks and help strengthen the internal controls ecosystem.
About the role:
Robinhood Markets (RHM) is the parent company of various lines of business, including Brokerage, Crypto, and Cash services. We are looking for a Risk Governance Director to join Risk & Audit at Robinhood and lead the Risk Governance function. You will be charged with overseeing and enhancing the company's comprehensive risk management governance and reporting framework.
This position requires a risk management leader with solid understanding of corporate functions in a Fintech setting: brokerage and clearing operations, technology and information security, counterparty and third-party risk management. The successful candidate is collaborative, analytical, and a strong relationship builder who is also a proven leader of multi-functional teams. A wide array of experience and the ability to build, attain partner buy-in, and scale risk governance programs across the enterprise is essential to support Robinhood's growth.
What you'll do day-to-day:

• Lead all aspects of the governance team and be the primary steward of implementing, maintaining, and building on enterprise risk standards.
• Play a leadership role in enhancing Robinhood's risk management governance program, including: establishing processes such as risk identification, assessment, monitoring, and reporting practices.
• Develop and present quarterly risk analysis to Management and Board Risk Committees.
• Build positive relationships and establish trust among stakeholders. Influence and serve as a risk advisor to Robinhood leadership.
• Partner with functions such as Brokerage, Crypto and Cash/ payments operations, finance, Engineering, Technology, Product and Compliance teams to develop and rollout enterprise level risk standards and guidance.
• Conduct risk governance activities such as assisting with risk and controls assessments, oversight of risk registers, issues tracking, corrective action plans, and leadership reporting.
• Participate in ad hoc projects and initiatives that enhance the risk and control environment.
• Gain product knowledge of Robinhood products, processes, and systems. Stay abreast of current industry standards.

About you:

• Passion for Robinhood's products and our mission to democratize access to global financial systems
• Risk management and regulatory and compliance experience in brokerage, crypto currency, trading, and money services/payments
• Bachelor's degree in relevant field business, operations, and risk management.
• 10+ years of related experience with risk management programs and/or compliance roles
• Ability to implement programs at scale with a bias to action
• Strong collaborative and organizational skills with ability to partner across functional teams and connect with technical and non-technical users
• Strong analytical abilities to simplify sophisticated problems and automate reporting and analysis, all while maintaining strong attention to detail
• Ability to learn quickly and complete projects
• Excellent verbal and communication skills

• Advanced degree or certification in a relevant field
• Knowledge of brokerage, crypto currency, trading, and money services/payments
• Background in Financial Risk Management, Model Risk Management, Operational Resiliency and Disaster Recovery
• FINRA Series 7, 24
