Our growing team is located remotely and on-site at our 30,000 square foot corporate headquarters in Horsham, PA!

Position Description

This position works on a hybrid model. Our hybrid employees are on-site 1-2 days a week.

TherapyNotes is looking to add a Director of Software Development to our growing team. The right candidate will possess a strong passion for technology and a drive for continuous improvement. The Director of Software Development will oversee the engineering department and provide expertise in several areas of the business, bringing relentlessly high standards to our innovative and collaborative teams.

Requirements:

• 10+ years of experience developing software in an Agile environment
• 3+ years of experience leading software development managers
• BS and/or MS in a technical discipline (Computer Science or Software Engineering preferred)
• Deep understanding of web frameworks, architecture principles & need to ensure the correct architecture decisions are made
• Deep understanding of development, maintenance & support functions of enterprise software, platform-based services & SaaS solutions
• Strong leadership skills and experience hiring and motivating high-performing development teams
• Strong ability to coach and mentor software development managers, helping them improve their skills and grow their careers
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills both between technical and non-technical teams
• Demonstrated passion for software development and a desire to inspire innovation and creativity in others

Responsibilities:

• Articulate and continually advance the strategic technical direction for the business, aligning the company's technology strategy with its business strategy and making sure the company continues to have the best technology offering in a dynamically evolving, highly-competitive space
• Enable engineering teams to execute the technical vision while achieving balance between business and technology strategy
• Oversee the engineering department providing hands-on technical oversight, directing engineering and product delivery efforts, and outline goals for research & development
• Define the strategy and direction of product engineering and processes, cloud deployment strategies, as well as product development
• Leverage experience and leadership to transform existing functions to drive consistency and efficiency
• Manage the overall operating budget of the department to maximize utilization of resources and delivery of solutions
• Assess and refine existing Agile development process by working with product management, support, development, DevOps, and QA
