As the company’s Strategic Finance leader, you will leverage your deep corporate finance and analytical skills to support, evaluate and drive complex business decisions including capital allocation, investment, financing, corporate and business development, and strategic/multi-year planning initiatives. Reporting to the VP Finance, you will partner with the company’s CFO and work across the organization to drive strategic financial decision making within Learneo. This is a leadership and management role with one direct report. The role will have a material impact on near and long-term business outcomes. 

Here are some ways you’ll make an impact:

• Lead and manage the Strategic Finance function, which includes one Finance Manager in a highly acquisitive environment
• Provide detailed modeling and analytical support for corporate transactions, including fundraising, debt structuring, M&A, and business development and investment decisions
• Present independent and unbiased analysis of all material investment decisions
• Support, prepare and deliver presentations to executive leadership for major corporate and business development, corporate finance and investment decisions 
• Play a lead role in financing, fundraising and diligence activities
• Maintain competitive market data analysis
• Support strategic market sizing and opportunity analysis
• Partner cross-functionally with operational leaders in the development of business cases to help optimize the Company’s decision making and business outcomes
• Support the Company’s strategic planning efforts
• Respond to CFO’s ad hoc analysis requests

Are you our Director, Strategic Finance? 

• 10+ years of experience with time spent in investment banking, venture capital or private equity
• Extensive experience analyzing and building sophisticated financial models with an expert level proficiency in Excel
• Ability to synthesize complex business issues and present them clearly and concisely to senior executives
• Enjoy working with and analyzing large data sets
• Experience working collaboratively across FP&A, Accounting and Data Analytics 
• Able to make recommendations with incomplete information
• Excellent interpersonal skills with an agile and collaborative approach to problem solving
• Experience hiring top talent and managing teams 
• MBA or equivalent 

Bonus Points 

• Prior experience in a high growth technology company, with edtech experience a plus  
• Proficient with SQL

We are a virtual-first company and have employees dispersed throughout the United States and Canada. We have a market-based pay structure that varies by location. The base pay for this position is dependent on multiple factors, including candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed below. You may also be eligible to participate in our bonus program and may be offered an equity award, benefits, and other types of compensation.
In accordance with California law, the base salary for this role if filled within California is $150,000- $270,000

In accordance with Colorado law, the base salary for this role if filled within Colorado is $150,000- $230,000

In accordance with New York law, the base salary for this role if filled within New York is $150,000- $257,000

In accordance with Washington law, the base salary for this role if filled within Washington is $150,000 - $243,000
