We are looking for a Director of Strategic Partnerships. As a strategic partnership Director, you’ll be part of a cross-functional team whose mission is to lead IonQ on its journey to build the world’s best quantum computers to solve the world’s most complex problems.Â
IonQ is a leading Quantum Computing company. We are growing our Strategic Partner Channel to support and accelerate our rapid growth. We are looking for a Strategic Partnerships Director who will report into the VP of Strategic Partnerships and help build and expand a network of Go-To-Market (GTM) and Quantum Ecosystem partners. Those include major CSPs, OEMs, Consulting firms and ISVs and Quantum Innovation Hubs who have a vested interest in growing the Quantum Economy globally. The strategic partnership team is part of IonQ’s GTM team and has the dual responsibility to contribute to IonQ’s GTM near term booking targets while expanding the indirect channel share of overall Sales over time. Responsibilities:
- Develop strategy for strategic partnerships aiming at growing aggressively Indirect sales of IonQ systems, access and software in alignment with Go-To-Market, Engineering and Finance objectives / capacity
- Identify and develop a network of strategic partners including: CSPs, OEMs, ISVs, Consulting Organizations, SIs and Re-sellers
- Develop and implement a strategic partnership management and support structure: including Operations, Marketing, Customer Success and Sales support
- Actively contribute to jumpstart/ accelerate the growth in Demand (Sales) for IonQ products in collaboration with our strategic partners
- Develop a strategy and drive implementation of IonQ’s global partnership expansion
- Drive growth through a combination, of strategy, salesmanship, and negotiation/diplomacy skills
- Structure and negotiate deals resulting in win-win outcomes to all parties involved
- Some travel expected in the US but also around the world (40%) for partner, client meeting and IonQ conference activities
Required Skills / Profile:
- 15+ years experience including both strategy development and sales
- Experience as a Management / Strategy Consultant
- Expertise working with or for one or more of the CSPs
- Proven business Development skills
- Experience with Technology Partnership Development / ManagementÂ
- Comfortable negotiating and driving win-win outcomes
- Prior experience/comfort in an entrepreneurial setting (could be in a larger company)
- Experience in AI/ML/. Solid understanding of Quantum Computing is a plus
Our HQ is located in College Park, Maryland and we are a 15 minute metro ride from Washington DC. We have also recently announced our new manufacturing and production facility in the Seattle, Washington area. We are actively building out teams in the Washington D.C., Seattle and Toronto metro areas and will want to locate you in one of these geographies. However, IonQ will be expanding into additional geographies both domestically and internationally so don’t let this stop you from applying.
