Aktiv Pharma Group (‘Aktiv’) is a fast-growing, vertically integrated specialty pharmaceutical company with combination products CDMO capabilities, developing, manufacturing, and commercializing sterile-injectable products in a portfolio of proprietary, value-added, prefilled delivery systems. The company’s team of 80 employees harmonize all aspects of combination product development and manufacturing with effectively synchronized operations, including chemistry, device development, manufacturing equipment development, material science, quality and regulatory, in-house cleanroom assembly operations, and in-house sterile fill-finish. Aktiv commercializes drug products independently as well as supporting other pharmaceutical companies address unmet needs and create competitive advantage in the market. Aktiv leading products are proprietary emergency medicine in autoinjectors.

We are currently hiring a Director of Supply Chain
The Position: The Director of Supply Chain will report directly into the VP of Manufacturing & Supply Chain and is responsible for developing and executing global supply planning strategies that support the company's commercial objectives while ensuring continuity of supply to meet project milestones. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of supply chain management, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. This individual will be responsible for optimizing and scaling current planning, purchasing and inventory processes for commercial and R&D combination drug products. They will also lead negotiation and administration of supply contracts with external suppliers. This role will be the supply chain SME/super user for our ERP platform.

- The compensation range for the Director of Supply Chain is $170,000 - $190,000 annually.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

- Leads the development of our Supply Chain Strategy and integrates requirements into a 5-year strategic plan for the entire product portfolio.
- Coordinates communication of our Supply Chain Strategy and translates impact effectively to a wide audience across the organization. Escalates to management when decision rights exceed established boundaries.
- Communicates roadmaps, progress, risks, mitigation plans, and impacts to senior management and internal cross-functional and remote project teams. Steer teams based on business objectives, and continuously align teams to those objectives, in the face of ambiguity and aggressive deadlines.
- Facilitates resource loading analysis to provide information and direction to leadership on balance of project workload to available resources.
- Develops, maintains, and justifies the departments’ budgets based on current and future business drivers.
- Collaborate to support prioritization of projects, clearly identifying business priorities, and scope to determine project requirements.
- Responsible for driving retrospectives that incorporate lessons learned from previous projects to instill a culture of continuous improvement.
- Maintains a central repository for all supplier information related to RFQs, proposals, quotes and forecasts.
- Creates, establishes and maintains an environment that encourages a strong culture of teamwork, accountability and commitment.
- Supports commercial growth for new and established products
- Analyze and manage supply chain risks, including identifying potential supply disruptions and developing contingency plans and leads positive conflict and issue resolution.
- Manage inventory throughout the supply chain, manage upcoming expiry, and ensure drug product accountability.
- Monitor schedule adherence of production schedules and make course corrections if needed
- Assist in the creation of Standard Operating Procedures
- Understands comprehensive global pharmaceutical regulatory requirements (e.g. cGMP, GDP)
- Experience in deviation investigation and CAPA implementation
- Direct activities of all functions involved in planning, purchasing, warehousing, and inventory management of materials and capital equipment.
- Provide leadership, direction, and daily support for teammates including training and development opportunities
- Source, develop, qualify and maintain vendor relationships and associated negotiated agreements in collaboration with the technical teams and in compliance with policies and controls.
- Work with internal teams to generate increasingly accurate forecasting models for prudent inventory management
- Maintain accountability, establishing processes and controls for accurate inventory counts at all times
- Optimize current procurement and related systems to deliver operational efficiencies including development and implementation of relevant key performance indicators.

Job Qualifications
Competencies, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of purchasing in highly regulated environments
- Understanding of end-to-end supply chain business processes (Demand and Supply Planning, Inventory Management, Lifecycle Management)
- Experience with combination products, drug products, high volume disposable medical devices.
- Supply Chain commodities like plastic injection molding, stampings, machined components, springs and other custom components
- Drug Product experience with APIs, excipients and supporting materials.
- ERP Implementation experience
- Knowledge of quality systems and how supply chain management interacts with them.
- Strong knowledge of cGMP and experience supporting 24hr manufacturing operations.
- Experience in problem solving in Pharma/Medical Device commercial and technical situations.
- Experience working with industry standards, trends and expectations with ability to interact with and influence third parties.
- Experience modelling scenarios with multiple variables incorporation identification of key drivers, risks, financials, and sensitivity analysis.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to mentor, coach and effectively transfer expertise to others.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to lead effectively in highly matrixed organization.
- Demonstrated ability to identify risk and react appropriately and make effective decisions in challenging circumstances.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and effectively communicate trade-offs and consequences of prioritization.
- Ability to consistently promote, support, work, and act in a manner in support of Aktiv Pharma Group’s mission, vision, and values.
Experience and Education:
- 10+ years’ experience in Supply Chain Leadership for Pharma and or Medical Device companies providing high volume single use drug products, combination products or disposables devices.
- Bachelor’s or Master's Degree in Business Administration, Operations, Supply Chain Management or related field.
- Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment with the ability to quickly ascertain needs, develop collaborative solutions and communicate actions effectively.
- Within experience must have 5 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, and programs or directing the allocation of resources.
