Job Overview
The Coffee Supply Chain Engineering team is focused on providing broad, strategic technical vision for Keurig Dr Pepper's (KDP) coffee supply chain by identifying breakthrough technologies, developing supply chain technical strategies and initiating/maintaining engineering standards and specifications to facilitate growth and value capture. Working closely with manufacturing and the broader Supply Chain organization, the Director, Coffee Supply Chain Engineering will lead the technical center of excellence for the coffee supply chain operations while also supporting the coffee R+D, long range planning and commercial teams as a technical support center.
The ideal candidate will bring experience in equipment design, systems design, coffee processing, innovation, and strong OEM relationship building. The candidate will also have direct operation and maintenance experience along with large capital project management. This will include strong financial acumen and internal customer focused, results driven leadership. The candidate will provide broad strategic leadership by working with product and package engineering R&D, identifying technologies that enable KDPs growth and productivity goals. Blending strong internal capabilities with creative, external perspectives, the successful candidate will lead the championing of new initiatives that demonstrate breakthrough thinking. With direct access to senior executives, this individual will lead highly visible strategies and programs that will have a significant impact on the direction and performance of the company.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and develop strategies for engineering standards for coffee supply chain operations and capital projects.
- Provide compliance to engineering standards.
- Maintain engineering standardized documents including AutoCad drawings.
- Develop and consult on strategies around spare parts and idle assets, including strategies such as Vendor Managed Inventory and 3D Printing.
- Conduct research and stay informed on new technologies in support of business goals and objectives.
- Drive engineering alpha, beta and pilot testing activities to develop best practices and updated engineering standards.
- Provide corporate support to operations and maintenance during large and transformational projects.
- Provide Centers of Excellence in key technologies (coffee processing, filling, packaging, material handling, manufacturing execution, etc)
- Work with senior leaders to help uncover and address strategic business opportunities and large scale asset investments
- Develop business cases, technical solutions and implementation plans as well as lead key strategic programs and cross-functional teams in driving strategic efforts
- Accountable for driving results, defining outcomes, and ensuring that the strategy is executed successfully to advance business outcomes
- Identify and define business questions and issues, and develop strategic, analytical, and financial frameworks to conduct analysis
- Structure and define approach to new strategic problems
- Synthesize complex strategic problems into clear, actionable plans and ensure execution for success
- Lead the multi year coffee supply chain technical transformation strategies
Requirements
Requirements:
- A Bachelor's degree from an accredited US or international university in Engineering, Economics, Business, Finance, or other highly analytical discipline is required
- 5+ years leading a technical or professional team
- 5+ years in large capital project management
- 5+ years in operations and/or maintenance management (Highly Preferred)
- Engineering R&D and Standards experience (Highly Preferred)
- Strong financial acumen
- Knowledgeable in AutoCad, 3D modeling/printing, process design standards, prototype development
- Master's degree, in Economics, Business, Finance, Accounting or other analytical field is preferred.
