Director of Supply Chain-Inventory Management
Job Description
This position is responsible for driving in stock by partnering with vendors to ensure adequate supply across locations, while optimizing the assortment and catalog offerings. Additionally, this role is responsible for the development and execution of processes and systems that are used to effectively manage inventory performance. This position will lead a team that will be accountable for the successful management of supply planning forecasts. The Director of Supply Chain - Inventory Management will report to the Executive Director of Demand Planning, Supply Planning and Inventory Management.
Responsibilities:
The Director of Supply Chain - Inventory Management will oversee supply management for all physical materials for Amplify Education, Inc. In this new role, the Director will lead a team of four analysts and, hire as appropriate, to support the ongoing growth of the company to build a highly functioning team. Both directly and by managing the team, the Director of Supply Chain - Inventory Management will:
- Develop and communicate comprehensive department inventory strategies and processes in alignment with multiple channels, department plans, key inventory targets, and financial goals.
- Create and execute with 3PL partners inventory and replenishment strategies to achieve key financial outcomes while proactively identifying improvements.
- Oversee and ensure accurate inventory reporting in NetSuite of on-hand and available inventory balances, stock transfers, and reserve locations for all vendors.
- Oversee the partnership with Order Fulfillment and Customer Success to document, develop, and simplify processes to communicate and mitigate customer impacting stock issues.
- Coordinating with Demand Planning and Production & Manufacturing to review buying strategies, minimums, replenishment forecasts, lead-times, and vendor performance to optimize inventory performance.
- Partner and collaborate with Production & Manufacturing to identify and mitigate production timing risks, build and manage receiving schedules, and maintain assembly production schedules with our 3PL partners.
- Coordinate with Sales, Customer Success, and Order Fulfillment to provide inventory visibility for large customer and key account needs, including but not limited to, inventory reports and stock projections.
- Partner and collaborate with Finance to ensure accurate accounting for inventory asset and liability valuations.
- Become the subject matter expert on fluctuations in inventory across the school year and advise Sales, Customer Success, and Order Fulfillment on inventory-related needs to support large and key accounts.
- Create and maintain a multi-level view of global inventory health, preparedness, and valuation
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 7 years of experience in inventory management and/or supply chain management with high financial accountability
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated analytical, strategic and creative problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple, competing priorities
- Strong written, oral and presentation skills with the ability to present information clearly .
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and data visualization software (i.e. Tableau) with proven ability to create multi-level dynamic dashboards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Past experience using forecasting, CRM and ERP systems, notably Blue Ridge, Salesforce and NetSuite
- Supply chain and/or planning experience in education publishing, hands-on learning or educational technology companies
- Master's degree or equivalent experience
- Enthusiastic self-starter, ready to roll up your sleeves and dive in
- Ability to think and react in a high energy and fast paced environment.
- Passion for sharing findings and actionable insights
- Collaborative and excited to work with many different teams across the company
- Experience with project management tools (i.e. Smartsheets, Trello)
What we offer:

The gross salary range for this role is $130,000 - $150,000. This role is eligible to receive an annual discretionary bonus that rewards individual and company performance.
