Amplify Education is looking for a talented and motivated Director of Supply Chain - Supply Planning to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will serve as a key business partner to Business Operations, Customer Success, Sales, Finance, Marketing, and Professional Development, supporting our fulfillment efforts by driving and optimizing our supply planning strategy to improve efficiencies and the customer experience.
This position is responsible for assessing vendor capacity, ensuring appropriate allocation of production, and managing delivery of product to meet demand volume and timing. Additionally, this role is responsible for the development and execution of processes and systems that are used to effectively optimize vendor production capacity and fulfillment performance. This position will lead a team that will be accountable for the creation and successful execution of supply planning strategies. The Director of Supply Chain - Supply Planning will report to the Executive Director of Demand Planning, Supply Planning, and Inventory Management.
Responsibilities:
The Director of Supply Chain - Supply Planning will oversee supply management for all physical materials for Amplify Education, Inc. In this new role, the Director will hire and lead a highly functioning team, as appropriate, to support the ongoing growth of the company. Both directly and by managing the team, the Director of Supply Chain - Supply Planning will:
  • Develop and communicate comprehensive department supply planning strategies and processes in alignment with multiple channels, department plans, key inventory targets, and financial goals.
  • In coordination with Demand Planning, conduct scenario planning and provide supply and risk mitigation recommendations, through detailed insight of supply and demand issues for programs of high strategic importance, high cost, and under constrained supply.
  • Use relevant technology, such as Google Sheets, Tableau, and Blue Ridge Planning to develop scenario-based supply options.
  • Create and execute with 3PL partners and the Director of Inventory Management inventory and replenishment strategies to achieve key demand outcomes while proactively identifying improvements.
  • Coordinate with the Director of Inventory Management and Production & Manufacturing to document, develop, and simplify processes to communicate and mitigate customer impacting stock issues.
  • Coordinating with Demand Planning and Production & Manufacturing to review buying strategies, minimums, replenishment forecasts, lead-times, and vendor performance to optimize inventory performance.
  • Partner and collaborate with Production & Manufacturing to identify and mitigate production timing risks, build and manage receiving schedules, and maintain assembly production schedules with our 3PL partners.
  • Create and maintain a multi-level view of production allocation and supply chain progress towards key milestones and demand outcomes across offset, digital, and kit manufacturing portfolios.

Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in supply chain management and/or inventory management with high financial accountability
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated analytical, strategic and creative problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple, competing priorities
  • Strong written, oral and presentation skills with the ability to present information clearly .
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and data visualization software (i.e. Tableau) with proven ability to create multi-level dynamic dashboards.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Past experience using forecasting, CRM and ERP systems, notably Blue Ridge, Salesforce and NetSuite
  • Supply chain and/or planning experience in education publishing, hands-on learning or educational technology companies
  • Master's degree or equivalent experience
  • Enthusiastic self-starter, ready to roll up your sleeves and dive in
  • Ability to think and react in a high energy and fast paced environment.
  • Passion for sharing findings and actionable insights
  • Collaborative and excited to work with many different teams across the company
  • Experience with project management tools (i.e. Smartsheets, Trello)

What we offer:
Salary is only one component of the Amplify Total Rewards package, which includes a lucrative 401(k) plan, incentive stock options, competitive health insurance and mental health options, basic life insurance, paid time off, parental leave, and access to best-in-class development programs. The gross salary range for this role is $130,000 - $150,000. This role is eligible to receive an annual discretionary bonus that rewards individual and company performance.
