Job Description

Babylist is looking for a Director of Talent Acquisition to lead the company through a time of critical headcount growth. As the leader of our Talent Acquisition team, you will manage a team of technical and business recruiters, sourcers, and recruiting coordinators. You will iterate upon our current talent acquisition processes and build scalable strategies for Babylist to grow effectively. You will redefine and develop a Talent Acquisition strategy and operation that attracts world-class talent in a rapidly changing talent landscape. You’ll partner with the leadership team and hiring leaders across the company to understand priorities and anticipate hiring needs. 


You’re creative, excited by experimentation and designing strategies to grow headcount in a way that maintains an exceptional bar and high Babylist values alignment. You will be a key member of our Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging group and build bias mitigation and diversity into every facet of your team, programming and strategies. Our team is thriving with remote work and regular visits to our Oakland HQ.

What you’ll do

  • Develop a scalable recruiting strategy for Babylist
  • Be a member of the leadership team. Build trusted relationships with senior leaders of the company to help them build and support the growth on their teams and functions
  • Develop, evolve and evangelize Babylist’s general employer and tech employer brand
  • Develop programs to enhance Babylist’s pipeline (e.g., internship programs, functional networking events, relationships with target schools / bootcamps, etc.) in partnership with DEIB leadership
  • Build, develop and retain an efficient, high-performing Talent Acquisition team 
  • Define the right KPIs. Develop a suite of analytics and tooling that help measure the efficacy of our Talent Acquisition operations and programs
  • Be a subject matter expert and stay connected to the competitive landscape, including compensation and employment brand trends 
  • Collaborate with a diverse range of hiring managers and senior stakeholders to execute against key hiring objectives 
  • Define consistent data-driven hiring metrics and goals 

What you’ve done

  • 5+ years of people management experience, leading a recruiting function in a growing company
  • 5+ years of experience as a recruiter, preferably as a technical recruiter
  • Built and managed a high-performing recruiting team 
  • Experience building high-volume Talent Acquisition operations for non-exempt populations
  • Proven ability to lead Talent Acquisition teams to hit hiring and business targets
  • Demonstrated experience working with senior stakeholders  and hiring leaders and are able to work with, influence multiple facets of the organization cross-functionally 
  • Highly analytical and understands the importance of tracking metrics to help build effective and scalable teams
