Job description

Team: General

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Technology Director - REMOTE. In this role, you will lead a dynamic team of software engineers and take full ownership of a diverse portfolio of .NET-based products. Your responsibilities will include managing team performance and career growth, while also driving modernization efforts for legacy systems. This is an opportunity to champion engineering excellence and foster a collaborative team environment in a fully remote setting. If you thrive on innovation and have a passion for technology leadership, we want to hear from you.

Accountabilities

  • Manage and develop a team of engineers, including performance and career growth
  • Own the team's Jira board end-to-end: backlog grooming, ticket intake, sprint planning, and velocity tracking
  • Balance feature delivery against platform health and technical investment
  • Drive the roadmap for a legacy-forward .NET portfolio while planning modernization
  • Lead efforts toward current engineering standards: CI/CD pipelines, containerized workloads, improved secrets management
  • Champion documentation, testing, logging, and observability where gaps exist
  • Serve as a capable technical partner, able to read logs and interpret system behavior
  • Step in hands-on during production incidents to triage and drive resolution
  • Requirements

  • Proven experience managing software engineering teams
  • Hands-on background in .NET development (C# preferred; VB.NET familiarity a plus)
  • Comfort owning systems you didn't build, including legacy code with limited docs
  • Experience modernizing engineering practices: CI/CD, containerization, observability
  • A bias toward ownership and learning over avoidance
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field or equivalent professional experience
  • Proven experience with 5 or more years as senior engineer, or manager
  • Experience with project management capable of planning and implementing complex projects
  • Ability to supervise a team located in various time zones
  • Experience planning backlog and prioritizing competing priorities
  • Benefits

  • Salary Range: $165,000 - $175,000
  • Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance
  • 401(k) Retirement Plan with Company Match
  • Flexible Spending Accounts and Health Savings Account
  • Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, and Long-Term Disability Coverage
  • Company Paid Holidays and Paid Time Off
  • Paid Parental Leave
  • Pet Insurance
  • Travel Assistance Services
  • Legal and Identity Theft Protection Plans
  • Commuter Benefit Subsidy
  • Employee Recognition Programs
  • Referral Bonus Opportunities
