Director of Technology

This role offers the opportunity to lead and scale a high-impact technology organization responsible for building secure, AI-native digital products on a modern engineering stack. You will define the technical vision, architecture, and execution strategy across backend and frontend systems while ensuring delivery excellence, scalability, and resilience. Working in a fast-moving, distributed environment, you will guide engineering leaders and shape a culture of high performance, strong security practices, and AI-driven development. The position blends strategic leadership with hands-on technical influence, requiring someone who can operate confidently across architecture, product delivery, and engineering operations. You will play a key role in embedding AI into engineering workflows while maintaining robust governance and quality standards. This is a high-ownership role where your decisions directly influence product capability, engineering velocity, and organizational maturity.

In this role, you will own the end-to-end technology strategy and execution, ensuring engineering teams deliver scalable, secure, and high-quality products while continuously improving development practices and operational excellence.

• Define and drive the overall technology strategy and engineering roadmap across backend and frontend systems
• Lead, coach, and scale engineering managers and teams, including hiring, performance management, and career development
• Establish and enforce architecture standards across Node.js (NestJS), React, Vue, and modern build tooling ecosystems
• Build and champion an AI-native engineering culture, enabling safe and effective adoption of LLM-powered workflows
• Own system reliability, observability, security posture, and cloud edge architecture using platforms such as Cloudflare
• Strengthen security and compliance practices, including secure SDLC, threat modeling, vulnerability management, and audit readiness
• Oversee engineering operations including CI/CD, release management, technical debt prioritization, and delivery metrics
• Drive incident response maturity and postmortem processes to improve system resilience and learning loops
• Partner with cross-functional leadership to align technical execution with product and business priorities

Requirements

This role requires senior technology leadership experience combined with deep technical credibility and the ability to lead distributed engineering teams in complex, modern software environments.

• Proven experience in a senior engineering leadership role (Director of Technology, VP Engineering, CTO, or equivalent)
• Strong background in modern backend development, particularly Node.js and NestJS in production environments
• Experience leading frontend engineering teams working with React, Vue 3, and modern build tools (Vite, pnpm, esbuild)
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, microservices, event-driven architectures, and API governance
• Demonstrated experience building AI-native systems or integrating LLM-powered workflows into production environments
• Working knowledge of Cloudflare and modern edge/security infrastructure (WAF, CDN, DDoS protection, access controls)
• Strong expertise in secure software development practices, including SDLC, incident response, and vulnerability management
• Ability to define engineering metrics, drive operational excellence, and manage technical delivery at scale
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence executive stakeholders and distributed teams
• Comfortable working across time zones and collaborating in a fully distributed environment
