Director of Total Reward

Why this role matters:
Reporting to our Chief People Officer, we are looking for an experienced Director of Total Reward to build a brand new team that will be responsible for strategizing, designing and implementing a competitive total reward strategy that will enable Vonage to be a competitive employer of choice both in retention but also in hiring new talent into the organization. This is a critical role as we move into our next phase of evolution and you will have the opportunity to really influence how we do Total Reward for the long term globally.

What you will do
- Establish and lead a best in class Total Rewards team
- Lead the design, development and successful execution of compensation programs, including base pay salary structures, sales incentives and short- and long-term incentive plans.
- Ensure the company’s compensation is internally equitable and externally competitive
- Lead the benchmark of current compensation and benefits with the macro environment and help senior management understand and project future needs to remain fair, equitable and competitive
- Collaborate with other HR and business leaders to:
- Evaluate Vonage’s competitive position from a compensation and total rewards perspective,
- Identify and recommend strategies to improve the company’s competitive position,
- Ensure departmental objectives, policies and practices align with and support the company’s total rewards philosophy and other HR initiatives and programs,
- Ensure that compensation programs and processes comply with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
- Provide subject-matter and technical expertise and proactive guidance to monitor, advance and scale programs to keep up with company change and growth.
- Coordinate annual merit pay activities including development of decision support tools, communication tools and data exchange among key stakeholders.
- Consult with business leaders and HR business partners on compensation issues, including market analysis; salary treatment in relation to promotions and other job changes; retention strategy and incentive pay.
- Manage compliance activities and ensure appropriate reporting, disclosure and response to government / regulatory inquiries.
- Participate in the design and administration of executive pay, long-term incentive programs, commission plans and other compensation programs.
- Research evolving compensation practices in the external marketplace and provide guidance to leadership.
- Oversee harmonization of compensation programs and processes arising through M&A due diligence and integration.
- Investigate, evaluate and resolve complex, critical and sensitive issues raised by senior management or escalated from subordinate staff and managers.
- Ensure all programs, policies and procedures comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
What you will bring
- Global Total Rewards experience, designing and implementing complex total rewards programs
- Expert knowledge of employee compensation programs, processes, issues and considerations.
- Ability to operate both strategically and be tactical as needed - given this is a new team, this balance will be critical
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with excellent quantitative and analytical skills.
- Ability to:
- Ensure performance of compensation and related functions within established time frames and with a high degree of accuracy.
- Juggle competing priorities & work at pace
- Manage multiple priorities with accuracy and efficiency while meeting deadlines.
- Integrate trends, data and information into forecasts, plans, models and recommendations.
