Position Summary:

The Director of Trade is a highly visible managerial position that will lead some of the key relationships along with supporting the functional implementation of specialty pharmacy, specialty distribution network and operations including contract management, account performance monitoring, and reporting. The key trade specialty, market access operational activities include delivering trade data analysis through data aggregation reports, internal preparation, and material creation for Quarterly Business Review (QBR) processes, performance management and customer interface. 

This role will assist the Vice President, Market Access in delivering the optimal effectiveness of a Controlled Distribution Network.  In addition, this role will be responsible for supporting the Payer Team in tracking payer coverage & account performance during launch and post-launch. 

This role will have direct interface with the field sales team, in house market access team and the payer engagement team to help translate network and payer performance into improved access, appropriate pull-through metrics knowledge and territory impact.

Specific Duties:

  • Execute the distribution strategy for the Company's marketed products, while ensuring that the distribution channel is positioned for new product and indication introductions.
  • Lead for a portion of the network, the execution and management of performance and evolution of the Controlled Distribution Network for optimal performance.
  • Lead multiple aspects of relationships with network partners including any future contract amendments that may be needed.
  • Support customer engagement requirements and co-develop a customer management & performance tracking system/tool for the Trade & Payer Teams to track engagement and performance metrics.
  • Liaise between market access and the sales leadership team on Controlled Distribution Network performance and manage ad-hoc and planned team updates.
  • Perform trade data reporting requirements in conjunction with Business Analytics team lead to further inform commercial assessments in Trade Data and Network performance.
  • Lead Quarterly Business Review metric management and design and implement reports for optimal customer performance.

 Skills:

  • Strong ability to present to executive-level leadership and strong customer management skills.
  • In-depth knowledge in performance metrics management, data and analytics.
  • Critical thinking skills and ability to act independently yet work collaboratively to complete role responsibilities.

Education/Experience:

  • BA/BS degree with focus in business, science, analytics, or pharmaceutical studies. MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in the Pharmaceutical/Biotech industry (minimum of 7 years pharmaceutical Trade and/or Operations experience with a track record of successfully executing on product launches partnership management).
  • Experience working with multi-disciplinary functions which may include Sales, Market Access, Marketing or Business Operations, preferably gained in both small and large companies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, with emphasis in working in Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Travel up to 20%.
