About the Director of Learning and Development role:
The Director of Learning and Development will join a highly collaborative People & Culture team, with a mission to empower and support KDC team members to realize their full potential. You will assess agency-wide developmental needs to drive training initiatives. You will identify and facilitate impactful training solutions for team members and service providers. This position actively searches, creatively designs, and implements effective methods to educate agency staff and providers and enhance agency performance.
This is a full-time position.
In the Director of Learning and Development role, you will get to:
- Partner with team members at all levels of the organization to create a training strategy that aligns with team member needs and agency goals.
- Maintain a working knowledge of DDS licensing regulations and CARF Accreditation as they relate to training requirements.
- Develops and/or maintain familiarity with multiple funding and regulatory bodies including Department of Children and Families (DCF), Department of Developmental Services (DDS), Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE), Department of Public Health (DPH) and MassHealth.
- Participate on the Safety Committee as lead training support consultant.
- Assist Program Directors in developing comprehensive program specific orientation and training plans.
- Provide direct supervision and oversight of agency trainers.
- Create and maintain strategic plans for staff development agency wide including but not limited to:
- planning for the standardization of trainings
- planning for the utilization of trainers
- optimizing use of the agency’s on-line training resources
- Develop training material utilizing a variety of media. Work with agency trainers and agency leadership to determine and implement training.
- Manage the agency’s on-line training system (Relias) and provide recommendations.
- Manage the Learning & Development SharePoint site to ensure the most current training resources are available for team members.
- Collaborate with the Director of Quality in the creation of outcome measurements to assess the benefits of training and provide summary updates.
- Monitor and maintain the on-boarding training curriculum.
- Develop and maintain department/division specific on-going training curriculum.
We are looking for people who have:Â
- Bachelor’s degree and 5 years combined human services experience required
- Master’s degree with at least 2 years of supervisory experience preferred
- Proficient with common eLearning methods and authoring tools
- Demonstrates an understanding of current adult learning theory
- Knowledge of essential training requirements agency wide as defined by regulatory agencies.
- Ability to deliver effective, professional presentations
- Ability to promote a positive and supportive work environment
- Ability to absorb, analyze organize and project information and ideas
- Ability to compose and comprehend written communication
- Ability to travel to other sites/locations & maintain valid Massachusetts Driver’s License
- Ability to utilize MS Office and learn a variety of software
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb, reach above head, and grasp items
- Use of equipment: Computer, telephone, copier, agency vehicle, fax, typewriter
- Must be able to lift, carry or pull up to 40 pounds at times
