Director of UI/UX (REMOTE)
Job Description
Position Purpose
As a UX Director, you will create innovative, customer-focused experiences for solutions meant to enhance teacher instruction and enrich the student learning experience.
The UX Director will work with product managers, engineers and other stakeholders to develop goals and outline needs for upcoming projects and new features for existing projects. When goals are set, the UX Manager will create user flows, wireframes, mockups and prototypes depending on the needs of the project.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Contribute to the design of innovative, customer-centric user experiences in a team environment
• Architect intuitive interaction and user-centered workflows that drive efficient engagement
• Create user-centered experiences and flows by considering market segment analysis, customer feedback, site metrics, and usability findings
• Participate in product design brainstorms alongside design and product team partners
• Use business requirements and customer research to assist in developing scenarios, use cases, and high-level requirements
• Design the navigation and interaction flow of applications and experiences
Job Requirements/Skills and Experience
• Bachelor's Degree in user experience, interactive design, or digital media related discipline
• A minimum of 4-years experience working as a user experience manager, UX architect, interaction designer, product designer, or similar role, preferably in a native software design based environment
• An understanding of user experience, user interaction, and design across mobile platforms, devices and products
• A basic knowledge of design patterns and user experience guidelines for iOS and Android
• Must have a portfolio featuring examples of user-centered flows and user interaction work as it relates to native platform design for iOS and/or Android devices
• A curiosity around current interfaces, software, platforms and hardware trends
• A track record of iterative UX flows, working closely with customers, peers and developers from inception through implementation
Preferred Qualifications
• Ability to develop concepts into elegant, customer-centric flows
• Champion for a range of users, including educators & young students
• Contributor of solutions to user experience challenges
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to collaborate with coders and stakeholders
• Eye for visual design and layout
• Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Responsive design working knowledge
• Experience with Agile development practices
