We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Director of User Experience to join our dynamic team. As the Director, you will be responsible for leading and shaping the overall user experience (UX) and design strategy for our products, as well as user experience research. Your primary focus will be on leading a team of product designers and researchers creating intuitive, visually appealing, and user-centric digital experiences that elevate our products and delight our customers. You will be a key driver in defining the company's design vision and ensuring that it aligns with business objectives.

In This Role You Will:

  • Develop and execute the UX Design vision, strategy, and roadmap for our products, ensuring they align with the overall company goals
  • Lead and mentor a team of talented UX designers, visual designers, and researchers, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, data scientists and marketers, to understand user needs and business requirements, and integrate them into the design process
  • Champion user-centered design principles, conducting user research, usability testing, and gathering customer feedback to inform design decisions and enhance the overall user experience
  • Identify and prioritize user pain points, opportunities, and trends to drive design improvements and product enhancements
  • Ensure the delivery of seamless and consistent experiences across multiple platforms, including web and mobile through our design system
  • Oversee the creation of wireframes, prototypes, and design mock-ups that effectively communicate design concepts and interactions to stakeholders
  • Establish and enforce design standards and guidelines, ensuring a cohesive and branded experience across all products and touchpoints
  • Stay up-to-date with industry best practices, design trends, and emerging technologies, and advocate for their integration into the product development process
  • Collaborate with product management and engineering teams in development cycles planning, providing design expertise, and advocating for the importance of design in achieving business objectives
  • Present design proposals, concepts, and updates to executive leadership and other stakeholders, effectively articulating the rationale behind design decisions
  • Foster a collaborative and open environment where feedback is valued and used to iterate and improve design concepts continually

To Thrive In This Role You Will Need:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), UX, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (typically 8+ years) in UX and product design, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Proficiency with collaborative design tools
  • Proven track record delivering value to your users
  • Strong experience making thoughtful product decisions informed by data and user research
  • Technical background (ability to understand, summarize, and communicate complex technical concepts)
  • Self-direction: You can take a large, ambiguous problem, set a course, and execute against identified deliverables with little oversight
  • A natural inclination to take the lead: You can easily mobilize people and resources towards defined objectives, and guide the team throughout the project
  • Excellent project management skills and ability to navigate competing priorities
  • Growth mindset: You love learning and growing beyond your comfort zone.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
