With a passion for excellence, EPIC members continuously push boundaries and strive to make a real impact in the world.
We are looking for an inspiring UX Director to drive the vision of the next generation of UKG products. As part of this role, you will manage a team of UX/UI designers across different geographies, provide coaching and actively bring out the best in them by motivating them and empowering them to innovate. Strong communication skills are key as you will need to be able to develop and present strategies, concepts and designs to large groups, cross-functional teams, and executives.
As the UX Director, you are expected to partner with UX leadership to define and improve the team's processes and to nurture a fun and engaging work environment and team culture.
Responsibilities:β’ Define, refine, and evolve the design strategy of a large suite of enterprise products.β’ Set the direction and standard of excellence for UX/UI design across the suite of products.β’ Advocate for design, usability, and accessibility across the organization, effectively delivering executive-level presentations to internal and customer audiences.β’ Understand designs that are in-trend, cohesive, on-brand and that incorporate best practices.β’ Drive and evangelize product design consistency through the governance and evolution of design systems.β’ Manage a team of designers (UX and UI) across different locations.β’ Initiate collaboration with peers and stakeholders to ensure delivering high-quality products through the entire design and development process.β’ Build a high performing team of designers.β’ Hires, on-boards, and mentors designers as needed to manage the design workload.β’ Define, recognize, and develop the talent within the. team to actively bring out the best in designers, developing both designers and team dynamics.β’ Provide coaching and feedback to direct reports to help grow functional skills and leadership capability, with support from senior leadership.β’ Aid in defining and improving design processes to support business initiatives.β’ Manages commitments and deadlines across multiple projects and groups.
Qualifications
Minimum required:β’ Degree in Human Factors, Engineering, Design, Graphic Design, Media Arts or similar, or equivalent work experience.β’ 10+ work experience with a focus on product and UX/UI design across a variety of platforms including web, mobile, tablets, phablets, and kiosks.β’ 5+ years of experience leading, managing and developing people, motivating others to excel and creating an inspiring work environment and culture.β’ Highly skilled in standard design tools (Adobe suite, Sketch amongst others).β’ Ability to work 3 days on site per week in our Lowell office, as of day one of employment.
Preferred/expected: β’ A passion for design and a great eye for detail along with strong visual, analytical and problem-solving skills.β’ Demonstrable experience defining design systems for enterprise products.β’ Excellent written and verbal communication and ability to communicate strategies, concepts and designs to large groups and executives.β’ Proficiency in mastering design principles (Typography, Composition, Scale, Color theory amongst other) and applying them to product design.
