Director of UX

At Flowcode we believe in Empowered Product Teams combining product, engineering and design that work with autonomy to achieve successful outcomes for our business. As the Director of UX, you will lead our product design team partnering with product and engineering teams to create intuitive product experiences across the platform: from how our users create experiences for their customers, to what those customers experience. You will work closely with our marketing, brand, and business stakeholders to ensure we have a first-rate experience for all users of the platform.

As a Director of UX in our design organization, you’ll oversee the problem spaces that touch all of the experiences across Flowcode. You’ll be responsible for the many successes (and many failures) of your designers, researchers, and the process, structure, and relationships that shape those outcomes. This role reports directly to the Chief Technology Officer and is a key member of our leadership team.   

The right candidate will be data-driven but operate with speed and intention. They will couple robust testing with strong intuition and innate user empathy. They will constantly think about how their designs translate to retention and engagement.

Some of the things you'll be focused on:

• Mentor and manage a team of designers – including defining clear goals, prioritizing work, and building a culture that fosters trust and respect.
• Guide ongoing design work and uphold a high quality bar for the user experience.
• Facilitate collaboration between product design and various other functions, such as product, engineering, growth, product marketing, and analytics to define the vision, strategy, and goals for Flowcode products. 
• Coach teams through the process of planning, navigating trade-offs, and creating meaningful user experiences
• Help scale the design team by hiring great product designers
• Partner with product marketing and sales teams in the go-to-market to ensure our partner communication matches the experience we deliver for members
• Bring a mobile-first approach to user experience

What we’re looking for

• 8+ years’ experience designing products across web and mobile platforms, with an eye for world-class visual and interaction design.
• 3+ years’ experience building and managing a team as a senior design leader. You should know how to attract exceptional people and inspire them to do their best work.
• The ability to influence and guide the team towards a cohesive, user-centric quality standard leveraging your strong user research background and product leadership experience.
• Experience in leading a creative team through a period of high growth, with a strong focus on goal-setting, measuring effectiveness, and scale.
• Proficiency in the use of data and analytics and fluency in the software development lifecycle.
• Business savviness and ability to prioritize both world-class design standards alongside growth and revenue acceleration.
• Experience with Figma and Design Systems
