Position Overview

We are looking to hire a Director of UX for our Digital Employee Experience Team. This person will report to the VP of Experience Design within the Digital Experience & Customer Empowerment (DXC) organization. The DXC team is responsible for ensuring delivery of a seamless experience across the full customer life cycle from discovery to onboarding to using our products (internally and externally). Our Experience team partners with marketing, sales, employee experience, customer success, legal, engineering, product management and others to achieve success.

This role will be responsible for the helping shape the experience vision and strategy of the digital employee experience at Autodesk in close partnership with cross functional teams. Through vision, strategy, and execution the Employee Experience team will enable employees to deliver great customer experiences across the business. This work spans across the employee lifecycle from on-boarding, customer engagement platforms, navigation of revenue, to transactional tools across the business.

Candidates need to demonstrate a successful history of challenging the status quo, driving team collaboration across organizational boundaries, developing experience strategy and realization plans, meeting facilitation, and staff development. The key objective of this role is to create a seamless and efficient employee experience to navigate across the varied digital tools and resources at Autodesk.

Preference for candidates in the US based in San Francisco, Portland, Atlanta, or Boston.

Responsibilities

  • Design champion and execute the vision and strategy for the Employee Experience team
  • Lead the Employee Experience team through execution on deliverables within the strategic roadmap
  • Engage, inspire, and develop a global distributed team
  • Work cross-functionally throughout the business with SMEs to understand tools and platforms and the employee experience within those resources
  • Define and implement cohesive research plan in partnership with research team to better understand employee experiences, pain points, usage, and feedback to help define the experience strategy
  • Represent employee feedback at a variety of levels within the org to better improve processes and influence for maximum outcomes
  • Evaluate tools and platforms consistently for changes in usage, sentiments, value, and experience
  • Engage with senior leadership across the business to collaborate on needs and roadmap, keeping channels open for communication and continuous feedback
  • Partner closely with VP Product & VP of Eng to have regular interlocks with executive stakeholders by business function including Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, Partner, Finance and HR
  • Work across teams and functions to identify strategic opportunities to improve team processes, optimize productivity and advance the employee experience
  • Plan ahead and anticipate changes in the business or industry to ensure company ability to pivot as needed for the employee experience
  • Develop communication plans and strategies around shifting priorities, new processes, etc.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 10+ years of related experience with 3+ years of enterprise-wide complex strategic leadership experience in UX design
  • Deep knowledge and experience working within the design of internal employee experiences
  • Demonstrated prior experience leading and scaling global teams to land quantifiable business impact in partnership with product and engineering teams
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships across multiple business units and functions
  • Proven record managing diverse and complex tasks: Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation requires evaluation of a variety of factors, blending strategic policies with an understanding of current business trends with implications to the design organization
  • High degree of influencing skills to manage through complex work, varying needs, and concerns
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with a keen sense of simplifying the complex in a relatable manner to a variety of levels within the org.
  • Well-practiced in holding discovery sessions, conducting research, and creating an action plan from the results
  • Enterprise domain experience in Marketing technology, Core Sales Automation, Customer Success Management, Partner Automation, Core Finance, and Human Capital Management
  • Experience with and knowledge of platforms such as Salesforce and Workday

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Enterprise experience within similar structured organizations, preferably within technology
  • Experience working in service design a plus

Salary is one part of Autodesk's competitive package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $178,800 and $289,300. Offers are based on the candidate's experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
