American Express Global Commercial Services (GCS) is a global leader in the commercial payments solutions space and continues to be an exciting and fast-growing business dedicated exclusively to the success of businesses globally. GCS provides a range of Corporate Payments Solutions and other expense management tools to help small, mid and large size companies around the world manage all facets of their business spending.

As a core engine that powers the GCS business and its colleagues, the Onboarding Capabilities team plays a meaningful role in delivering outstanding revenue empowering services and capabilities across the customer experience.

The Director, Onboarding Capabilities - Program Management will lead our team central to enabling the delivery a client onboarding experience for businesses looking to American Express for their payment needs. This role will focus on the tracking, managing, and governance of the program across the phases of product development, from intake through go to market and the launch of new and exciting features for our customers. The role will require meticulous project management, outstanding communication, and a record of building relationships and collaborating cross functionally. The leader will support business goal alignment and assessing business value for use in prioritization recommendations.

How will you make an impact in this role?

  • Overall accountability for established project and communication plans, partnering within our group and across our business (e.g. PD&I and Tech).
  • Lead program management of various workstreams across the globe with accountability of stitching together critical initiative plans
  • Overall accountability/ownership of clear and open communication updates on workstream progress to multiple levels: from working group to senior leaders and executive partners
  • Ensure backlog is centered on business value, customer needs and considers the competitive landscape in partnership with strategy
  • Lead and develop an outstanding team
  • Grow existing areas such as program management, governance, and communications to continue improving on the current success.
  • Provide input for business planning using a backlog rooted in input from key partners and our team's product managers
  • Lead the strategy and execution for general team communications and awareness in addition to workstream specific updates (e.g. newsletters, team wins, etc.)
  • Encourage matrixed, cross-functional teams to deliver on shared objectives

Minimum Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience building and leading diverse, highly engaged, impactful teams
  • Experience and success as a leader of leaders
  • Sees the big picture and connects individual decisions to the overall business impact, with a history of influencing others to adopt this thinking
  • Confident and influential decision-making in complex and ambiguous situations; comfortable troubleshooting and aligning conflicting interests
  • Builds and delivers compelling, clear, and consistent communication
  • Proven track record of partnering with others to drive better outcomes, working with partners internationally, as plus
  • Embraces and inspires change, leading adoption of new ways of working, and uses storytelling to drive understanding and adoption
  • Business and technology experience (e.g. Agile)
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 7+ years of related experience

PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • MBA/Master's degree

Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the U.S. is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for this position.

Salary Range: $145,000.00 to $230,000.00 annually + bonus + equity (if applicable) + benefits
