Director Operations

Position Summary:

The Director, Operations (QuartzBio) will lead a team focused on business operations including operational systems, resourcing, financial management, contracting, and analysis and reporting on business performance. The Director, Operations (QuartzBio) will provide direction and support to a team of individuals supporting QuartzBio business operations as well as lead and contribute to the development and implementation of business processes and systems.
Essential functions of the job include but are not limited to:
- Oversee and direct work for QuartzBio Operations teams supporting financial management, resource management, contracts management, and operational systems management
- Develop, implement, and monitor day-to-day operational systems and processes to provide visibility into the goals, progress, obstacles, and performance of the business
- Devise operational strategies for a high growth SaaS solution business, and implement process improvements to maximize output and minimize cost
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to gather user requirements and to contribute to design for operational system functionality and reporting
- Primary responsibility for short-term and long-term resource planning, including developing resource plans, monitoring capacity, and reporting on utilization
- Develop and report on leading and lagging performance indicators and business metrics
- Monitor performance of the Operations team in accordance with standards and policies
- Other duties as needed
Qualifications:
Minimum Required:
- Bachelorβs in Information Technology, Life Sciences, Business Administration or related field
- 7 years of experience in operations management or related field
- 3 years of experience managing people
Other Required:
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Experienced with software and technology designed for operations management
- Knowledge of principles and best practices from an operational perspective for financial management, contracts management, and task/resource management
- Proven ability to plan and manage operational processes for maximum efficiency and productivity
- Ability to work and to adapt in a face paced, high growth business environment
- Ability to create, document, and follow processes and procedures
- Must be able to read, write, speak fluently and comprehend the English language
Preferred:
- Experience with Smartsheets software
- Experience with Atlassian software (JIRA / Confluence)
- Experience with MS Teams and SharePoint
- Experience working in a Software as a Service (SaaS) business
