POSITION SUMMARY:

The Director, Organizational Change Management is responsible for directing and leading the ERP Modernization Program's change management efforts.

This role is responsible for developing the change management strategy and related plans across the organization in partnership with our Solution Implementer (SI) and Business Process & Product Owners. They will also oversee the execution of the strategy and plans, including communications and training activities. They will develop change workstreams that maximize change readiness and drive program adoption, including stakeholder management and leadership alignment.

The Director is responsible for leading the execution of activities essential to help individual stakeholders understand, adjust to, and adopt the new practices, processes, or tools to ensure the ERP Modernization Program is successful.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Partner with Business Process & Product Owners to develop and execute an ERP change management strategy, that considers the Company's culture, the magnitude of change and the organization's change readiness.
  • Provides insight into the Communications Strategy and workplan to ensure all employees and external stakeholders are fully aware of impending changes.
  • Partner to further develop and communicate the value proposition of the program to leadership, stakeholders and the organization as a whole.
  • Modify the SI's change management program and methodology to align with the culture of Republic to ensure successful adoption.
  • Proactively identify pitfalls and potential points of challenge or change aversion. Develops counterstrategies to mitigate or minimize potential issues.
  • Leverage OCM methodologies to identify key stakeholders impacted by the change. Identify potential challenges for stakeholders, such as skills gaps, doubts, and uncertainties, to foster a positive acceptance of change. Tailors change management plans (training and communications) to accommodate the needs of the different impacted stakeholder groups (e.g., Corporate and Field).
  • Works with BTO Lead, Business Process Owners and HR to create mechanisms to de-emphasize old behaviors and encourage new desired ones. This process may involve redesigning jobs and defining new behavioral competencies and performance metrics.
  • Contributes to the identification of and provides leadership for change agents and change advocates within the Wave 2 stakeholder community by involving trusted informal leaders to create employee understanding and influence successful organizational change.
  • Promotes and provides ongoing coaching and mentoring about change management practices to senior leadership, stakeholder managers and project managers to increase their effectiveness in driving sustainable change.
  • Performs quantitative assessment of change success and change adoption. Solicits feedback from stakeholders to determine the success of change management activities and ensure that behavioral changes align with strategic objectives.
  • Develops materials for quarterly Board meetings, Executive reporting, and other significant corporate, training or communication events.
  • Supervises staff as directed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across the organization to drive adoption of the Modernization program.
  • Deep knowledge of Republic Services maintenance programs and field execution
  • Strong matrix management skills; proven success in managing cross functional teams
  • Ability to work across multiple groups and manage complex tasks and activities.
  • Ability to proactively identify and mitigate barriers.
  • Excels at leading through ambiguous situations or for activities not directly associated with well-defined responsibilities. Thrives when facing ambiguity and complexity; willingness to explore multiple solutions to a problem.
  • Highly effective critical thinker who can synthesize information from disparate sources and recommend appropriate management action.
  • Compelling communicator, both written and verbal, effective at presenting to all levels of the organization, including external shareholders.
  • Strong leadership skills: ability to engage and inspire; fosters a sense of energy, ownership, and personal commitment to the work; create an environment in which performance excellence is rewarded.
  • Ability to listen, but also to persuasively convey opinions and recommendations.
  • Ability to deliver high value impact as member of a larger team, ensuring efforts support the strategy of the business.
  • Possesses an awareness of internal and external interdependencies of impacted business functions, and an acute perception of the consequences of business issues and decisions.
  • Experience with and deep knowledge of change management methodologies, approaches, and tools.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Secondary education in business, technology or related field, or equivalent work experience. Organizational development, change management, training certifications are highly desirable.
  • Track record of successful organizational change experience, with goals to achieve and identify strategic business objectives and benefits
  • 5 or more years of experience in cross-functional areas or leading cross-functional organizational projects
  • Demonstrated experience in working with diverse teams at Republic Services
