Job Overview:

As our Director, People Operations, you’ll be responsible for developing our most valuable asset - our people.  This role calls for a strategic HR leader and culture builder to partner with our business leaders to foster a high-performing workplace. You will also have a direct impact on scaling a top tier entertainment and technology company while leading a team that supports and executes on all stages of the employee lifecycle.

As PlayQ's People Operations expert you will provide thought leadership across all levels of the organization while crafting the most intentional and impactful people programs for our team. Empowered by data, you’ll create and develop a variety of key initiatives to strategically evolve our performance development, total rewards, organizational design and employee engagement programs. As a key ambassador of PlayQ culture, you’ll be the “go to” person for best practices and creating the roadmap for building a great place to work as we continue to grow our team and products.

Responsibilities:

  • Define and implement our overall People Operations strategy by overseeing key initiatives such as performance management, employee relations, company policy and program development, compensation design, and organizational planning etc.,
  • Partner with the leadership team to create a roadmap to support company growth, create a meaningful employee experience and drive performance and retention
  • Lead a talented, global People Operations team by strengthening our current processes and testing new approaches to ensure world-class experience throughout the entire employee lifecycle  
  • Manage and mentor our global People Operations team (US-Based Senior Manager, Global Recruitment and Workplace Experience Coordinator as well as Ukraine-Based Operations Manager)
  • Partner with cross functional leaders to drive performance and talent management initiatives and provide them with strategic and tactical people operations support
  • Maintain our HRIS system and keep other HR tools and systems up to date, ensuring a high level of data integrity
  • Manage all global people processes, workflows and systems with the goal of automation and scalability for future growth 
  • Foster strong cross-functional relationships with Finance, IT, broader People team and other stakeholders to drive efficiencies and simplify workflows

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 8+ years of human resources/people operations experience, including 4+ years of leadership and 1+ years in a startup environment; ownership over the entire people operations function preferred
  • Experience managing a global team
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple complex, global HR projects while operationalizing HR policies and strategy
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to oversee the progress of all contributors and deliver impactful results
  • Expertise in developing and implementing various new people programs and initiatives 
  • HR Generalist skillset with a wide range of responsibilities such as owning compensation, benefits and immigration amongst other areas of the employee lifecycle
  • Progressive and innovative attitude toward developing people initiatives
  • Warm, positive, personable with a genuine interest in people.  You set the tone and tend to attract people to you
  • Strong understanding of the importance of company culture and the responsibility to help create, influence and evolve it
  • Well versed in drafting effective and engaging company wide communication
  • Ability to establish strong relationships with people at all levels of the organization
  • Strong sense of integrity and confidentiality when working with highly sensitive and confidential information
  • Strikingly unique balance of excellent communication and time management skills coupled with an extreme attention to detail and sense of urgency
  • Effective presentation skills and experience leading training programs 
  • Very comfortable with technology (think Slack, Atlassian, Trello and Google Suite)

  • Experience using various HR tools such as Rippling, Human Interest, 15Five and Greenhouse
