Director, Pricing
KBR is seeking a Pricing Director to lead our proposal pricing efforts for our National Security Technologies Group (NTG). This position will report directly to KBR's VP for Strategic Pricing. NTG is KBR's newest business unit in our U.S. Government Services business with a customer base that includes the Intelligence Community, Air Force, Space Force and others.
KBR's leadership is committed to the establishment and development of a skilled NTG Strategic Pricing Team to support the pursuit of new business and the defense of existing contracts. This is a unique opportunity to build a Pricing Team within one of the largest Government services companies. Candidates should have experience recruiting, screening, hiring and training Pricing professionals. They should also have a history of leading Pricing Teams that prepared complex, high-value proposals for U.S. Government customers.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Job duties and responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
- Recruit, screen, hire and train Pricing professionals
- Work with other KBR Pricing leaders to promote retention and career development of existing staff members
- Establish best practices for estimating, pricing and associated proposal activities
- Educate and collaborate with other functional teams to increase the speed and effectiveness of KBR's proposal development process
- Analyze solicitations, customer award trends and competitive intelligence to develop and deliver strategic and tactical pricing recommendations for proposal teams and leadership
- Manage staff assignments and stay abreast of opportunities to in the business development pipeline to ensure adequate and timely support for proposals
- Provide direct pricing support to the largest and most complex opportunities
- Provide advisory support to Pricing Analysts supporting both small and large proposals
- Enhance and update the department's cost estimating system manual
- Collaborate with KBR leaders to develop business development strategies and organizational changes that help grow the company
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (or higher)
- Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work well with others
- Ability to present and influence an executive audience
- Ability to easily shift focus from project to project to meet changing demands and deadlines
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively with management
- Able to earn others' trust and respect through consistent honesty and professionalism in all interactions
- Ability to promote cooperation and commitment within team to achieve goals
- Deep understanding of price build-up with rates and factors along with different types of government and commercial contract types
- An understanding of company's financial statements, financial performance metrics, and how one's actions will impact financial results
- Ability to analyze sets of data on a micro and macro level and present analysis to inform strategic decision making
- Experience analyzing market and competitive data. Can establish a deep understanding of our customers' award trends and evaluation methodologies
- Willingness and ability to travel to KBR locations to meet with staff, proposal teams and leadership
Additional Desired Qualifications:
- Active TS/SCI clearance preferred or willingness and ability to be granted the clearance
- 20+ years relevant experience
- Experience preparing proposals for professional and technical services for NTG's primary customers
- Familiarity with ProPricer
