Job Description
The Director of Product role is responsible for the overall product strategy, definition, development, and leadership of a domain portfolio product(s). They are responsible for the outcomes the team generates through work quality, work cadence, product excellence, process excellence, and continuous improvement. They embody the company’s values, are excellent communicators, lead from the front, and can galvanize a team to action. They take a first-principles, disciplined approach to product management. They are comfortable yielding thought leadership to their team, while also stepping in as a subject matter expert as appropriate.
How You’ll Do ItDrive the product life cycle of multiple product portfolios
- Develop, define and oversee portions of Pie’s product portfolio roadmap
- Incorporate Pie’s existing development backlog and make priorities as determined by the business, user and market needs
- Gather and prioritize requirements for the product, define product vision and collaborate with cross-functional peers in engineering, design, marketing, sales and other operational departments
Vision Creation
- Build an understanding and cultivate the product’s vision, and business case
- Ensures that the company’s overall strategy and goals are supported by those of the product; that the product goals and strategy do not deviate from that of the business.
- Understand our competitors’ offerings and be able to innovate to differentiate our product offerings.
Collaboration
- Partner with other business stakeholders and engineering leaders.
- Handle multiple, major conflicting priorities with stakeholders.
Leadership and Management
- Oversee and answer to the appropriate executive and stakeholders for all activities of which they are responsible for within the department.
- Oversee and ensure that the functions of Group Product Managers and Senior Product Managers are efficiently and effectively executed.
- Build and develop the Product team which includes; recruiting, onboarding, performance management, professional development, separation and offboarding activities and tasks.
Research and Analyses
- Conduct relevant product research; establishing competitive intelligence and various market analyses that supplement and complement analyses already conducted by junior product managers.
- Conduct consumer and market research that further aids the business in understanding current and future product needs.
- Improve the product development process to become more effective and efficient as they work with stakeholders and identify the business needs.
- A Bachelor's degree in a related field is required, and a Master’s degree is preferred.
- 8 years of technical product management experience or relevant experience is preferred.
- 3 years of experience managing people in product management related positions is preferred.
- Advanced communication (written, verbal and presentation) skills, to deliver complex information effectively and align people with the needs of the project/team.
- Advanced problem solving skills, to be able to manage complex situations with multiple layers, and resolve to solution anticipating needs now and into the future.
- Advanced awareness of workflow, and project tradeoffs to make decisions based on needs now and into the future.
- Advanced leadership knowledge, and ability to build, develop and coach the team and manage the overall group/team workflow to successful deliverables/outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple project deliverables, making decisions and understanding tradeoffs, and create processes for efficiency and effective product delivery.
- Marketing analysis skills and a mastery of the Industry and sharing white paper level information as necessary.
- Mastery of quantitative analysis across all areas of the business.
- High level skills in project management tools, and project mapping.
- High level technical skills and mastery of the industry to mitigate complicated issues and manage multiple complex deliverables simultaneously.
- Master of SQL/Looker, or other relevant analytics tools.
Base Compensation Range for position: $185,000 - $260,000

Hybrid work locations provide team members with the flexibility of working partially from our Denver or DC office and from home.
