POSITION CAN SIT REMOTELY IN THE US OR CANADA (Alberta, British Columbia, Ontario)
BASE SALARY: $170K - $230K USD // $180K CAD - $250K CAD
***A portfolio is required and must be available for review at time of application
The value of this position
Product design and User experience is fundamental and critical to Embroker’s success and will require a UX leader that can guide and shepherd the user experience. Great user experiences don’t happen by accident or with a single UX person on a team. They require hard work from a multi-disciplinary team working across functional groups with a process and set of tools in the appropriate organizational structure. Designers need leaders who can frame what they do and organize their groups to deliver great user experiences.
What you’ll own in this role
- Set the UX vision and strategy across the company
- Attract and develop top-tier design talent while cultivating a high-performing, values-driven culture
- The critical KPIs, metrics, and business outcomes that deliver an ROI to the organization and communicate them effectively
- Infusing the culture with a design thinking mindset—a creative approach to solving business, product, and user problems
- Communicating that great user and customer experiences are great business and great business leads to sales and profits
Required Qualifications
10 years in user experience design, 5 years leading user experience teams
Education and/or Certifications
BA or higher in a design related field or equivalent
Experience we believe is the right fit:
- 10+ years of experience in UX/digital product design with a strong understanding of the craft of design
- 5+ years of experience in people leadership with demonstrated experience in hiring, leading, and coaching high performing, cross-geography, or remote teams.
- Foundational understanding of product led growth and design principle that support it
- A passion for creating magical moments and truly solving problems in simple and efficient ways.
- Ability to balance short-term and long-term thinking while raising quality and team performance
- Proactively identify and resolve issues that may impair the team from meeting strategic, business, or financial goals
- Ability to work effectively in an Agile environment, including the ability to adapt quickly and effectively to changing requirements
- Strong data-driven visual, verbal, and written story-telling skills with ability to bring partners along
- Experience successfully managing many stakeholders through all phases of the design process
