Director, Product Development

Job Description

The Director, Product Development commits to helping team members overcome obstacles, guides them to solve challenging problems, and ensures the organization stays focused on delivering business value to our customers. This position provides mentorship and guidance to a multi-disciplined team providing coaching and demonstrating technical excellence through the use of best practices, keen problem-solving, and collaboration with non-technical subject-matter-experts, Development staff, and business owners across the organization. The Director champions agile best practices as part of the product delivery responsibility and keen focus to customer success will see them be accountable for the operational quality and availability of the team's deliveries. This position helps roll-out high impact products that deliver significant customer value I -line with the company's vision.

Job Responsibilities

• Leads and develops a team with individual objectives, task management, 1:1's, annual reviews, status reports, and project planning.
• Oversees technology road map with the Development and leadership teams to improve the underlying costs and capabilities of the VMS software.
• Oversees and leads the software development processes to drive efficient workflow through development process and continuous integration.
• Adheres to coding policies, technical documentation, and operational discipline as defined by the software development policy.
• Participates in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle (Agile, Kanban & Waterfall) including technical requirements analysis, technical design, development, testing, code deployment, and production support.
• Maintains and migrates the legacy technology layers to modern industry standard technologies.
• Ensures product quality goals are met or exceeded.
• Participates and facilitates level 3 on-call support.
• Manages vendors and subcontractors (including offshore and out-of-time zone).

Education

• Bachelor's Degree | Preferred

Minimum Work Experience

• 9+ years of hands-on development experience with modern languages.
• 6+ recent years of experience managing.
• 4+ recent years of delivering cloud-based software.
• Recent experience delivering .net based software and modern CI/CD pipelines, ADO preferred.
• Working knowledge of cloud-platforms, Azure preferred.

Key Skills

• Excellent communication skills for team leadership, software release documentation, client response, and leadership team updates.
• Proven team leadership skills with emphasis on on-time quality delivery.
• Knowledge of statistical modeling tools such as R and IBM SPSS.
• Knowledge of Data Warehouse design with integration into Business Intelligence systems.
• Understanding of Service Oriented Architecture, including SOA and SaaS, Web Services, WSDL, SOAP, REST & RPC, JSON, Microservices, and Web Content Management Technologies.

Pay Rate

$176,500 - $209,500 Salary

Final pay rate is dependent on experience, training, education, and location.
