Director, Product Development
Job Description
Responsibilities
- Responsible for System Architecture Plan, System Security Plan, and Disaster Recovery documentation of the solutions.
- Responsible for immediate team alignment to standards, practices, and procedures to ensure solutions are designed and developed according to agreed-upon methodologies, including divisional and industry best practices.
- Work with deployment and operations personnel to ensure successful delivery and high availability of services.
- Maintains continuous focus on improving performance, capacity, and scalability of products and solutions.
- Mentors team members by providing guidance, direction, and feedback
- Support solution demos, POCs, solution design, estimating, and proposals for existing clients and new opportunities.
- Implement controls & tooling for products and measurement of adoption and usage
- They are engaging with counterparts at clients and partners over time to continue to deliver advice to the customer and identify additional opportunities during all parts of the client journey.
- Successfully communicating conceptual ideas and design rationale to stakeholders and team members
- Provides technical leadership for production escalations and customer problem resolution, resolving critical issues with minimal supervision and aggressive timelines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline
- 5-7 years of experience in developing and designing enterprise Java web-based applications
- Experience working with offshore teams
- Experience working with the following technology and tools;
- Java web component technologies like Servlet, JSP
- ORM frameworks such as Hibernate
- Writing and understanding complex SQL
- RESTful web services
- View tier technologies such as JavaScript and Ajax
- JavaScript frameworks such as JQuery and React JS
- Git and Git Flow
- Tools, frameworks, and technologies in the open-source Java world
- Knowledge of search, analytics, and No SQL technologies is a plus
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies, Scrum Master experience is a plus
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to learn unfamiliar technologies and become productive with them quickly
- Strong oral/written communication skills
