Director, Product Development- Mom & Baby
Job Description
Job Summary:
The Director, Product Development for Mom & Baby envisions, strategizes and identifies new product innovation for the mom and baby category. This individual will be responsible for end to end negotiating of the Product Development life-cycle including but not limited to: manufacturing costs, raw material sourcing, product components and labels Lead product development projects and initiatives within the mom and baby category, overseeing formulation and development for Organic formula, snack and baby food, bath & personal care and VMS catering to both mom and baby.
Job Expectations:
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Overseeing all manufacturing operations related to organic infant formula production, organic baby snacks and foods including raw material sourcing, blending, filling, and packaging.
- Overseeing all manufacturing and planning as it relates to the mom & baby category, including VMS, bath & personal care and home and grocery.
- Ensuring that all manufacturing processes meet regulatory requirements and quality standards.
- Developing and implementing strategies to optimize production efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality.
- Leading and managing a team of manufacturing professionals, including production supervisors, quality control personnel, and maintenance staff.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including research and development, quality assurance, and supply chain, to ensure smooth and efficient product development and launch.
- Stay within net cost and set SRP accordingly
- Developing and implementing safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
- Managing budgets, forecasting production needs, and ensuring that financial targets are met.
- Staying current with industry trends and developments and implementing best practices in manufacturing processes.
- Partner with cross functional departments such as marketing, regulatory and compliance

- Coach and develop direct reports
Equipment Knowledge:
- Experience with Microsoft Excel and the use of formulas preferred
- Experience with Google Business Suite (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms) preferred
Experience Requirements:
- The ideal candidate should have a bachelor's degree in a related field, such as food science, engineering, or business administration, as well as at least 10 years of experience in the infant formula industry, with a proven track record of success in a senior manufacturing leadership role.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, able to manage and motivate a team, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Additionally, experience with regulatory agencies such as the FDA, and knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies preferred.
- Lead meetings, and drive ownership of follow-ups
Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Science, B.S. Food Science or related field preferred, or a combination of education and equivalent work experience.
