Director, Product Innovation

Deluxe is looking for superstar Director of Product Innovation to lead and facilitate our consumer-driven approach to innovation, aka "design thinking." You'll be an instrumental leader, engaging directly with users and working with the team's user experience designers, researchers, engineers, and others to uncover key unmet needs and rapidly prototype and launch solutions.

The Director, Product Innovation will lead Deluxe's efforts to achieve a consistent, best in class Product Management capability across Deluxe, while leading select innovation design projects to stronger product outcomes and role model the customer centered product capability we're building. This leader will work cross functionally with product managers throughout the organization as well as with product development and other groups across the company.

• Establish consistent and best in class product management capabilities across Deluxe, including Product Strategy/Roadmap, Process, Portfolio and Metrics, and Tools
• Lead a small multi-disciplinary innovation "pod" to lead/co-lead innovation design projects, in close partnership with Business Units, to accelerate BU priorities using a human centered design process to refine product strategies and invent/reinvent products and experiences
• Lead and facilitate the development of a holisitic Deluxe-wide product strategy and roadmap, by working in close collaboration with product managers and leaders across the Business Units

Basic Qualifications:

• Masters Degree in Business, Marketing or equivalent experience
• 6+ years of experience in Business, Marketing or related field
• 5+ years of financial services industry experience in product management, innovation, new product development or related field
• 5+ years People Management experience
• Proven experience in product management and innovation methodologies, especially Design Thinking

Preferred Qualifications

• Masters Business Administration
• 10+ years of experience in Product Management, Innovation or related field
• Excellent facilitative leadership skills to work collaboratively cross functionality to lead and influence employees that are indirect superiors, peers, or junior to his role
• Experience managing a high performing team and cultivating a collaborative environment.
• Outstanding collaborator across team boundaries
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience working within an innovation team or enterprise product team for a larger company
• Experience with primary customer research, time "in the field", market research, and translation of insights uncovered into ideas, concepts, and products.
