Role Overview 

As Director, Product Management, you will have the opportunity to shape the direction of the Business Analyst practice as well as the Quality Assurance practice. Under your guidance, these two practices should operate harmoniously to ensure high quality and impactful products for our clients.  

You and your Business Analyst team will pursue deep knowledge of our clients’ businesses and objectives so that you can fastidiously record known needs and proactively suggest forward-thinking opportunities. You will enable your team as technical strategists as well as key contributors to front-line delivery throughout the product lifecycle. Your strong relationships with other departments (such as Client Services, Strategy, Analytics, UX, Creative, Development and QA), expert-level contribution and passion for collaboration will set a strong example for the BA team as they perform the critical role of translating business needs into actionable requirements. 

As leader of the Quality Assurance practice, you will define and enact standard processes to minimize risk. You will justify spending on worthwhile tools to support a modern and efficient quality assurance practice. You will also define the ideal balance of automated and manual processes to ensure high-fidelity testing in a cost-efficient manner. Additionally, you will shape expected QA activities during project discovery and planning phases. 

You will encourage a culture of continuous learning through your own example, ensuring that your practices are staying up to date on industry developments and eagerly experimenting with new ways of working. Your team will feel inspired and supported by your coaching in their daily work by virtue of your empathetic demeanor, solution-oriented mindset, and deep expertise. Minimizing turnover, developing skillsets, and recruiting top talent will be your responsibility and opportunity to scale up each practice. Under your tutelage, the team will adopt efficient and innovative processes and meet the highest standards of documentation. 

What You’ll Do  

Management and Leadership 

  • Manages a team including hiring and onboarding, training and development, resource planning across the team, performance management and career development. 
  • Drives evolution of existing Agile, Business Analysis, and Quality Assurance process and deliverables, including sprint ceremonies, business requirement documentation, functional specifications, test strategy documentation and test plan templates.
  • Serves as a Business Analysis and Quality Assurance subject matter expert and advocate internally and externally.
  • Contributes to Genuine marketing efforts by providing thought leadership.
  • Develops and facilitates department goals and initiatives as a key member of the Technology leadership team.
  • Manages casting, resourcing and allocations for the BA and QA teams.
  • Builds client relationships and identifying organic growth opportunities.
  • Supports new business pitches as well as scoping/estimation efforts. 

Project Involvement 

  • Leads and/or facilitates early definition and planning efforts for building multi-tiered and heavily integrated digital solutions. 
  • Collaborates with agency subject matter experts and clients to gather and document requirements through stakeholder interviews, user research and discovery sessions.
  • Examines systems for improvement, reporting common issues, evaluating company performance, and recommending new procedures.
  • Works with creative & UX teams to translate designs into functional and technical specifications for developers.
  • Collaborates with developers to articulate and consult on technical solutions.
  • Works with Engineering teams to create implementation plans for Web Content Management Systems (WCMS) such as Sitecore, Drupal, and Adobe AEM as well as non-CMS product builds.
  • Works with Engineering teams to create integration plans for connecting with a variety of other systems (CRM, Email Marketing, PIM, etc.).
  • Plans and architects data models for organizing volumes of information.
  • Translates requirements into epics and stories and driving backlog prioritization.
  • Identifies, escalates, and mitigates project risk.
  • Co-leads Agile scrums and sprint ceremonies with Project Management.
  • Maintains communication regarding project status and risks with leadership.
  • Drives robust and modern quality assurance practices including test strategy, test plans, and efficient execution methodologies. 

What You’ll Need 

  • Minimum 10 years of experience as a Web Solutions Architect, Digital Product Owner, Digital Product Manager or similar in a professional environment. 
  • Minimum 3 years of experience managing a team of Business Analysts, QA, or Digital Implementation Teams
  • Ability to facilitate workshops to support ideation, build consensus.
  • Ability to synthesize business challenges into actionable solutions.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC and Agile project management methodologies.
  • Skilled at creating professional documentation and specifications using Jira/Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similar product suite.
  • Extensive experience in varied and complex technical implementations.
  • Experience with Web Content Management Systems / Digital Experience Platforms (Sitecore, Drupal, AEM) and integrations strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge pertaining to web technologies (i.e. APIs, server architectures) a plus.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lead by proactively identifying and mitigating risk.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to comfortably interact professionally with a diverse group including executives, managers, technical experts and subject matter experts.
  • Agency experience preferred.

  • The right candidate may be located anywhere in the US but must be willing to work east coast hours. We believe in the power of bringing people together so the right candidate must be willing to travel to the office as needed (at least two times a year) and as needed for clients, pitches, or internal meetings. If the right candidate is local, even better! We encourage staff to work in our Boston office 1-2 times per week.

In Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada and New York City the standard base pay range for this role is $107,000 – $160,000 annually, depending on relevant factors including experience, internal equity and market considerations. This base pay range is specific to Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, and New York City and may not be applicable to other locations.
