What We Do:
As Director, Product on Calm’s product team, you’ll identify, define, and prioritize features to help grow Calm’s global presence. This role will be primarily focused on 1) developing product capabilities that solve important user problems/challenges; 2) driving subscriber growth and increased user engagement with the Calm app; 3) researching and testing features that help users plan and track their progress in the Calm app as well as features that help drive habituation for users as they embark on their mental health journey.Â
More generally, you’ll develop and test hypotheses to deepen the engagement of Calm’s user base. You’ll be a product leader that collaborates across the company to meet key objectives strategically and effectively. You’ll work closely with our Engineering, Design, Data, User Acquisition, International, Marketing, and Content teams to identify and define features to drive engagement and retention.
What You’ll Do:
Drive new feature development focused on growth of specific direct-to-consumer subscription KPIs - your days will consist of ideation, planning, testing, optimization, and reporting of these features
Build and manage a product roadmap; set priorities, goals and track deliverables to drive product strategy forward - placing an emphasis on timely execution by a cross-functional team
Partner with Design to deeply understand user needs and create rapid prototypes to test effectiveness of proposed solutions
Partner with Engineering to develop and execute on a robust roadmap of impactful initiatives
Partner with Data to perform in-depth data analysis to identify and propose high-impact testing opportunities
Create PRDs that succinctly explain a feature’s job to be done, the market opportunity, how success will be measured, and the tasks necessary to ship/iterateÂ
Who You Are:
A passion for creativity, innovation and building great products, including those with an emphasis on daily usage
Ability to analyze user data and extract business requirements from multiple stakeholders and transform them into usable and elegant product specifications
A strong point of view regarding product execution best practices
Deep knowledge of network effects, virality KPIs and complex funnels
Technically conversant and able to collaborate easily with cross-functional partners
History of running large scale A/B tests in a data-informed environment
Experience hiring, developing, and managing PMs
Ability to balance multiple projects and deadlines
Nice to Haves:
Experience on a growth team for a subscription-focused DTC product or business
Experience working with a mental or physical fitness-focused product
Experience in gaming and/or developing product features with demonstrated habituation and progression considerationsÂ
Experience leading a small team of PMs with a deep understanding of when and how to scale that team
Minimum Requirements:
12 years of related work experience
7 years in consumer-facing product management roles, with at least 3 years experience managing consumer-facing PMs
Critical thinking/analytical leadership experience
Experience presenting to senior leadership
Experiencing engaging at the senior leadership level with cross functional groups
The anticipated salary range for this position is $219,500 - $307,300. The base salary range represents the low and high end of Calm’s salary range for this position. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidates skills, experience and other qualifications. This role is also eligible for equity + comprehensive benefits + 401k + flexible time off.Â
