About this position

The Director of Product Management will lead a team to implement the vision and strategy for new product development and product lifecycle management of existing products. They will incorporate customer insights, research, and concept development with market analysis, industry intelligence, and the voice of the customers to create product category roadmaps and innovate new products and enhancements. The Director of Product Management will partner with internal stakeholders, including marketing, sales, operations, finance, and regulations, to ensure the new and existing products meet development targets and support the organizational financial goals. At the same time, partner with the field and marketing focus groups. They will be accountable for managing and performing the assigned product category profit and loss throughout the entire product lifecycle. This position is not limited to innovation/renovation and will be expected to contribute to strategic projects, including brand positioning, customer retention, and customer engagement.

What you'll do

• You develop and drive a product roadmap to support the organization's vision and strategy for its assigned product category.
• You're accountable for leading the development of new concepts which deliver on the critical customer, ambassador, and internal needs and align with the brand strategy.
• You provide management with analysis and consistent reports of product category performance, including sales volume/revenue compared to baseline/budget.
• You develop budgets and forecasts for existing and new products on the roadmap to support the annual budgeting process.
• You're accountable for adherence to the assigned product category P&L goals. Partner with operations and finance to determine and drive opportunities to meet or exceed annual product and category budget numbers.
• You partner with Product Marketing, Sales, and R&D to develop highly effective positioning that differentiates Plexus products from a competitive marketplace and develop a go-to-market strategy and support plan for each launch.
• You will collaborate with operations, finance, and sales teams to manage the assigned products and product categories in a fiscally responsible manner (e.g., reducing excess inventory, SKU optimization/rationalization, and forecasting).
• You assist in identifying and driving product promotion strategies for responsible categories to achieve incremental sales (e.g., gifts with purchase, holiday offers, cross-promotions, etc.)
• You assist in building internal capabilities that allow for stronger management.
• You're a resource and mentor for the rest of the product management team.
• You track the marketplace to learn of and implement best practices.

You should have

• Y ou have a bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
• You have 7+ years of product marketing and/or product management, three years as a manager, and 8+ years leading people.
• You have 9+ years in product marketing, specifically with a nutritional, weight loss, or skin care company preferred.
• You have a passion for creating an extraordinary business opportunity, cares about people, and wants to be a part of something bigger.
• You have strong analytical skills to evaluate marketing, sales, and financial opportunities.
• You demonstrate strong strategic and creative skills, as well as communication skills, as they will champion the project assigned.
• You can work in a fast-paced role that requires individuals to manage multiple projects simultaneously while working across company functions with many different people and teams.
• You collaborate with others and thrive in a team environment while meeting individual goals and expectations.
• You anticipate obstacles, communicate effectively and plan accordingly. Adept at providing solutions and working in cross-functional areas to facilitate the successful completion of projects.
• You can contribute to the professional development of a team and provide innovative leadership.
