Director Product Management, YouTube Shorts Discovery
Job Description
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
- 15 years of experience in product management, including providing product vision, strategy development, data-influenced product planning, prioritization and directing product launches from conception through launch.
- 5 years of experience managing a team of product managers.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with modern approaches to machine learning powered video recommendations.
- Experience building user-facing product experiences across complex projects.
- Experience working on machine learning centered teams focused on content recommendations.
- Ability to guide and work on multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Ability to influence and communicate cross-functionally with all levels of management.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced, constantly evolving and collaborative environment.

YouTube Shorts is furthering YouTube's mission to give everyone a voice and show them the world by scaling a short-form video ecosystem. You will lead the YouTube Shorts Discovery team that is responsible for recommending videos that users value, inspiring creators, and getting them an audience. In this role, will lead a team of product managers to continue to guide the overall strategy and deliver on key initiatives.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $230,000-$346,000 bonus equity benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Lead development of a compelling product vision and strategy for recommendations products.
- Develop and lead a disciplined product development process and drive product insights, roadmap prioritization, and resource allocation.
- Work with cross-functional leaders across all strategic and product areas of YouTube and Google to gain buy-in, forge partnerships, and build enthusiasm for the product vision.
- Grow and develop a high-performing product team by attracting, growing, and retaining talent.
